The Blue Jays plan to give new outfielder Nolan Reimold plenty of playing time, SportsNet.ca’s Shi Davidi writes . The Jays claimed Reimold from the Orioles earlier this weekend. “ His big thing is staying healthy, he’s had trouble doing that over his career. This is his opportunity, there wasn’t a spot for him over in Baltimore,” says manager John Gibbons. “He’ll come here and help us out .” Adding Reimold could help the Jays use Jose Bautista more frequently in the infield.

Reimold hit .315/.420/.481 with two homers and nine RBIs on a minor league rehab assignment with Double-A Bowie.

I'd keep an eye on this guy, he can hit if healthy. And with E5 out Reimold is going to get a lot of playing time in the outfield no doubt. Not like the Blue Jays really had anyone stellar in Left Field anyway (Colby Rasmus? Yuck.) He's a great player and I'm disappointed the O's had no room for him, baffles me why they kept David Lough on the roster over him, but I guess they wanted a healthier defensive option, and with both Pearce and Delmon Young playing great this season, there was just no room for him. And you don't need 7 outfielders on a roster even in the AL.

But if he gets a lot of playing time, look at his numbers.

The Jays got Melky in LF. I'd imagine he would play RF with Joey going to 1st esp with his back. However ideally I would want Joey in RF with his cannon of a arm.

I've always liked this guy as well but he never had the perfect storm of opportunity and health. Hopefully he runs with this opportunity.

Isn't Reimold an injury waiting to happen? Seems like he comes out blazing and then misses the rest of the year. Been burned in the past by this behavior.

Does Lind's injury help him PT-wise or does it make no difference

Was wondering the same thing but I do think it helps Reimold. Edwin E (1st) got hurt so they started playing Jose Bautista at 1st. Lind was the backup 1st baseman but with him out of the picture, it seems like they'd have to keep Jose at 1st and Reimold in RF. Might be worth a flyer for the next two weeks until Edwin E comes back.

Yeah he's a candidate for short-term-stat-stuffing until he gets hurt. I think he's a strong buy - just hope he continue to gets starts (until he gets hurt)

He can hit when he's healthy. The may not be long but he's got a good opportunity to put up some solid numbers right now.

It was inevitable, but that sure didn't take too long to get injured.

This guy is a joke. I've never seen anyone in my life that gets hurt like this guy. ALWAYS something wrong with this dude. It would be a compliment if someone said this guy is made of glass.

I hope not, because he wasn't even able to last a full month in the majors.
