What do we think of Boldin this year? Last year he had a great resurgence with Crabtree out. Can he continue to be a productive WR despite his age and many mouths to feed?

everyones talking up michael crabtree and how well he did when he returned at the end of the year. do most people not realize that boldin game for game was BETTER (a lot better) than crabtree during the last 4 to 5 games of the season. boldin was WAYYY better in the playoffs...

this completely goes against ppl saying crabtree entering the picture will take targets from boldin. boldin did better when crabtree came back. im not sayin hell be wr1 but wr 2 to 3 is very reasonable and i wouldnt be surprised if he scored more pts than crabtree many weeks this year...

Honestly?
I ended up with Boldin in a trade. In standard leagues, I see little value in him outside of 3 WR leagues, where he is a mid- to low-end WR3 option. In PPR, his value may climb a bit, placing him in the very low-end WR2 to basic WR3 range.
My league is standard 2-WR, so I couldn't see myself playing him unless a case of injuries/byes were to hit simultaneously. However, for some reason I feel like his name draws more value than his fantasy points should account for, and for that reason I feel like he's great as trade bait even after a decent showing.
In the end, he's a consistent option, but that offense is so low-passing and has so many options that he'll never put up incredible numbers, a touchdown every couple of games and rarely over 80 yards.

With VD out, Crabs and SJ picked up the slack, AB didn't benefit 1 bit. Compounded with the fact that Crabs is healthy and clearly the favorite receiver, you're going to be taking a gamble on him producing every week. Given all of this, at this point he's worth dropping unless there is absolutely nobody else worth picking up.

not much love for Boldin but he is coming off his biggest game of the season and leads the team in targets .. maybe low end WR2 numbers the rest of the way

No. Someone new gets fed every week in that offense.

We get it. You're a 'fantasy pro.' Now get your fat a** up off the couch and exercise a little.

This is the most inconsistent I can recall the 49ers being in fantasy. Currently trying to trade away Crabs and Boldin for a RB...

Actually, Boldin gets fed pretty much every week. He's WR26 in my .5 PPR league and it's not like he's gone off some week to skew his numbers. He's just not flashy. He's steady, which sometimes is a good thing.

Honestly, as a Niner fan and an Anquan owner last year, he's getting all the looks and catches. I think Crapernick trusts this dude. Super underrated. I'd play him this week.

Scored 15+ in 4 of his last 6 and consistently gets targets on a team that otherwise spreads the ball around quite a bit. Returning great value for where he was drafted.

If they were playing any other team than Seattle, he'd be a must-start ROS.

Sherman shut him down last year.  Big physical receivers rarely do well against the LOB.

With the beef between Crabtree and Sherman, doesn't it make more sense for that to be the matchup than Sherman on Boldin? Granted, coaches won't just go with that game plan simply because of on field beefs. Anybody wanna weigh in on this?

SF usually keeps Crabtree away from Sherman -- that play in the NFC title game was like one of fewer than 5 times that Crabtree lined up opposite Sherman all game.
