Who do you guys think is the better closer to own? I don't know too much about Dempster (other than he's Canadian)......Valverde in my opinion is at that age of 27 where he can be putting it all together now.

valverde, though both are capable of imploding...

dempster has actually been doing pretty well this season, but he's not a real closer, and was horrible last year...

valverde fell apart last season, so i worry about that this year, but he does have a great arm and could have learned from last seasons bad experience..... he had a scary outing last weekend but came back and pitched well since...

then again, someone just dropped valverde in one of my yahoo leagues...

Valverde easy

IDK what Raef is talking about him not having a good arm. Unless he is talkign about injury concerns. He has excellent stuff, he always has. He is easy the better closer to own, not only because he has closer stuff, but because Zona is a better team that does not win games by huge blow out scores... a lot of save opps there.

Not sure about Valverde but Dempster has been pitching really well up until his last outing Monday, I'd bet they both implode though.

Id definitely rather have Valverde. Generally, his job is more secure than Dempsters. Plus as some one noted above, the D-backs dont win their games by large margins so thatd give him more save opps. Go with Valverde.

I chose Dempster. I have him on 4 teams, and He's doing really well, I don't even think he's blown a save yet. I could be wrong, but I know Valverde has blown about 3. I think!

Sometimes I think my replies are a lot easier to read than some of those more technical answers. Of course, that shows my general lack of knowledge in the latest news. Well, if you want a fairly simple, direct answer without a lot of stats about tons of other players, read the simplistic notice I post! (I'm just being silly!)

He blew his first save Monday, first time all season he really hasn't looked any good.
