Yeah, I'm trying to use him to upgrade my RB2 position.

70 for 1100 (10 TD's)

That sounds about right...If you extrapolate his #'s from last year over the course of 16 games(Because he only played in 13), you would get:

68 receptions, 1159.5 yds, 10 tds.

That's his 2nd year, and a jump in those #'s should be expected for a 3rd year wideout. So I would say 75-80 catches for 1250-1300 yards and 10 tds.

I have been reading quotes from their OC Arians, and they are supposedly going to be using him more on underneath patterns.

I like him this year, he could be a top 12 wr.

Damn, those are some huge projections from him. I think he can do it, I just think teams are going to focus more on him then Ward this year. Ward is a shell of himself and had the fewest 20+ receptions in his career last year. Add another year of hits, I believe he had some knee surgeries, and you're going to end up with more coverage on Holmes. I think he will have a nice year, no doubt. I just don't see him reaching those projections. I would say 70 for 850 and 6 TDs. I know it's pretty low, but I think defenses by week 3 will really start to key on him in the passing game and I don't see him being good enough yet to exploit double coverages.

But they added Limas Sweed too, he is a much more formidable option than Nate Washington/Cedric Wilson, no?

Yes, but how often to rookie WRs make an impact in their 1st year? I don't think Sweed is going to relieve Holmes of any pressure until his 2nd year. Wouldn't entirely shock me if he did, but I wouldn't be banking on that happening.

I think 850 is a little low (espeically considering what he did last year missing a few games), but I also think 1200 might be a little high for the reasons you stated. We can all call it a split at 1000 yards and 8 TDs.

1,100-1,200 yards and 8-10 TD's. Ward is getting old in the tooth. Holmes is the deep threat and red zone target.

Do you guys honestly think he is a good RDZ threat though? He doesn't have size and is working too small of a field to beat a CB deep in most instances. Also, he isn't phsyical like Ward which sets up well in the RDZ. I think he's a decent RDZ threat, but not double digit TD type.

He averaged 18.1 yards per catch and had 15 catches for 20-plus yards with eight touchdowns (942 yds.) last season. Keep in mind he missed 2 or 3 games and I think 1,100 yds. and 10 TD's is easily attainable. He was the #20 WR last year. I don't know why people aren't higher on this guy. That's cool. It allowed me to draft him as my #2. wink.gif

I don't know. I'm acting weird on the forums, looking for praise since I'm at a draft right now and kind of nervous. Just disregard whatever I post for the next half hour or so.
