I don't know what direction the Bulls are going to go right now... Do they want to start fresh again and hone Thomas' athletic ability or do they want to work off Gooden's rather promising display of leadership before last year's injury? And because of this little predicament, I can't tell if I should be picking up one of the other or neither at all...

Gooden put up good numbers with the Bulls last season. He is going late in drafts and is a nice value. The Bulls have no one else who can really post up. He shoots well from the field and the line and is a solid rebounder. I like him as a utility guy in 12-team leagues.

Ty Thomas has more talent but no fundamentals. I have a hard time seeing him get the minutes a steadier hand like Gooden will. Del Negro has enough headaches in the backcourt; he should want to have at least the front court rotation settled.

Gooden become fantasy revlant after the trade to chicago. Heck, he even started to block shots.

I'd draft him in the latter part of the draft.

Smells like a timeshare to me, with Gooden getting usual 25+ mpg, and Thomas around 20 mpg. With that I would target Gooden at the end of drafts, and probably steer clear of Thomas while keeping an eye on him all season though.

I'm happy that you guys are still unaware of the Chicago situation. I'll be able to snag Tyrus even later now... laugh.gif

I haven't heard of any situation that would make me want Tyrus, unless Gooden's being moved to C

"He's going to be used a lot," Vinny Del Negro said.

The Bulls' coach was referring to Drew Gooden, who, other than journeyman Michael Ruffin, is the only veteran frontcourt player at training camp. But Gooden, entering the final year of a three-year, $23 million contract he signed with Cleveland, insists he is focused on nothing but winning.

Joakim Noah got poked in the eye, but he should be back within the week.

Bulls forward Joakim Noah has a left eye Hyphema (blood in the anterior chamber of the eye) and will likely be out five days pending the resolution of his symptoms.

Noah was poked in the left eye during practice this past Wednesday. He will be monitored daily by the team’s medical staff.

Gooden will be solid but unspectacular.

Tyrus has huge upside but hasn't come close to showing it off so far in his career, so the odds are not awesome that he will suddenly have a breakout campaign.

That's the idea. You don't want to use a high pick on him because he might give you another 8 point, 5 rebound season.

So I guess picking up Gooden at around the 8th round wouldn't be as damaging as one might think? This is TT's 3rd year already but I have a feeling he'll end up having 4 20-10 games in the entire season...

I'm really digging the Derrick Rose to Tyrus Thomas alley-oop pass... I'm hoping to see alot more of these and I hope the Bulls build off these 2 as well as Noah, Deng & Thabo... Everyone else is expendable in my opinion...

OK, so tonight Gooden played 28 min and TT played 41. Both had really good games all the way around and the potential C eligibility for Gooden could be really nice. Yet hi minutes were relatively low.

Thoughts after 1 game?

Well, since the stats are pretty similar between TT and Gooden, but Gooden has only 2/3 minutes, I think we will see that balance out to more of a 30 min per for each guy, and I like Gooden. Let's be frank - Gooden's the only person on their roster even close to the size of a center.
