Comps for him listed so far in this thread: Hoskins, Goldy, and Votto. Glad I have him but I'm getting too excited. I need to read Garrett Hampson game logs to quickly cool myself off.

BOS - Barnes ATM but def fluid with Brasier, id roster barnes over brasier if i had to pick rn, neither have me excited or confident MIN - Its Parker for lions share with Rodgers getting the lefty saves TEX - i think leclerc gets it back wouldnt bother with the Martin and Kelley TB - even as a fan i have no clue whats going on here, Castillo - Alvarado - Pagan all are in the mix based off of something, heck if i know, id lean Alvarado/Castillo over Pagan tho, those 2 have best bet to run with it imo KC - i like Kennedy if you have a spot, the meh outing recently doesn't turn me away, bad defense accounted for most of that and i dont see another arm to contest Kennedy really ATL - im on the Luke Jackson train with a 👀 following minter from the WW (still think they sign kimbrel after the draft) SEA - its Elias for me easily at this point, the other 2 guys are better but haven't really seen much action, until then just watching them and how Elias does LAA - I rank them Robles - Allen - Buttrey as it seems buttrey wont really get a fair crack as the fireman kind of guy imo, still think allen gets another chance and Robles has NEVER had a sub 3.5 ERA (3.48 one year thats it) which doesn't get me excited about his ROS outlook Obv take this FWIW and feel free to chime in with any other opinions or takes on these situations, i just wanted to do a recap and outline my opinions

What an absolutely garbage human. How can anybody say you need to wait to hear more evidence? I mean the guy got convicted of strangulating his pregnant girlfriend and repeatedly punching her in the stomach and somehow isn't a felon. America seems to always have an athlete's back when it comes to these kinds of felonies, any normal person is looking at a long stint incarcerated but never a star athlete, it's insane. Now this sickening audio comes out and we need to wait to hear more about it? We already know this guy should be a felon, that's not in doubt. Now we just have audio about his breaking a 3 year olds arm and constantly beating him with punches and a belt. Yeeahhh, this sure seems to be a time when we should make sure to collectively err on the side of caution. Wouldn't want to paint a guy with this type of moral standing as some kind of an a**hole unfairly, right? Are some of you so invested in fantasy football that you are willing to look for excuses this badly? You're months from drafting, keepers surely aren't that important to you, are they? Cause that would make you pretty bad humans yourselves. There is no logical argument that could be made that this guy should ever play football again. He already had his one in a million get off with a slap on the wrist. This will be very bad press for the NFL if they do nothing and so hes about to get Ray Rice'd. Good riddance.

Law is such a tool. No one cares that he didn't have Alvarez in his top 100 prospects. But, sitting there now, claiming he wouldn't add him, is pure cow dookie. You made a mistake, Keith. You missed on Alvarez. Just admit it, and move on. What a child.

Lol I understand some of the criticisms of Bryce and his approach, but to pretend he’s not completely driven to be great and that he’s the “kind of guy who would settle for sitting on the bench for 13 years and get paid” is laughably ignorant. Be better.

Big-ish list for Deep and Shallow Redraft Leagues in No Particular Order MLB Hitters: Upton, Didi, Scooter, Corey Dickerson, Jed Lowrie, Mitch Garver, Travis Shaw (sucked before "injury") but that may have been just what he needed to get back to form), Kyle Seager, Jake Lamb MLB Pitchers: Jimmy Nelson, Andrew Heaney, Sean Manaea, Taillon, Brandon Morrow, Betances, Kluber, Alex Wood, Eovaldi, Hunter Strickland, Josh James (if a rotation spot opens), Maeda, David Robertson, Joe Jiminez (in case Greene is dealt), Biagini (if Giles is traded), Sam Dyson (if Will Smith is traded) Prospect Hitters: Yordan, Kyle Tucker, Kevin Cron, Luis Urias, Sean Murphy, Kieboom, Kelbert Ruiz, Ryan Mountcastle, Zack Collins, Nate Lowe, Cavan Biggio, Jesus Sanchez, Jorge Mateo, Daz Cameron, Yusniel Diaz, DJ Stewart, Monte Harrison, Ke'Bryan Hayes, Jacob Wilson, Jake Rogers, Corey Ray and maybe (doubt they come up this year): Bo Bichette, Jo Adell, Alex Kirilloff, Luis Robert Prospect Pitchers: Logan Allen, Cease, Gallen, Luzardo, Mitch Keller, Brendan McKay, AJ Puk, Nate Pearson, Triston McKenzie maybe Whitley, Honeywell, Mize and Luzardo though for different reasons they are questionable to make it this year

    1) It wasn't Johan -- maybe a little bit. It was new Twins pitching coach Wes Johnson for mechanics, the front office, his agent for continuously advocating for him to develop a cutter and Jake Odorizzi for teaching him his cutter. 2) League average velocity for a lefty? His fastball velocity is fifteenth amongst all starters. Oh and he's a lefty if I didn't mention it. Maybe his cutter velocity is bleeding into your data. There's a 5 MPH difference between the two pitches which improves each's effectiveness. 3) All starters try to do this. The proverbial third pitch is the mountain every pitcher must climb towards effectiveness as a starter otherwise you will get eaten alive the third time through the order. It's extremely hard to develop a new good pitch. For Perez, he met a perfect teacher in Odorizzi because Odorizzi's cutter grip is very natural to Perez in that he can throw it the same way he throws his fastball but receive break. This also creates near identical motions and release points adding to effectiveness for both pitches. 4) Great question. I'm not sure. 5) The Twins didn't miss the potential breakout. Before he even signed with the Twins, Wes Johnson was explaining ways he can improve his mechanics despite not having a guarantee he was coming to the Twins. Wes Johnson is doing some amazing things to thus far.

[Foreword: No offense to you, you are just posting this guys tweet, this comment is directed to the Twitter personality, not you.] What a stupid tweet by that person, totally cherry picks stats from not 1 but 2 small samples... Conveniently ignores excellent power development and discipline: FB: 30.0% (2019) / 23.3% (2018) ✔ HR/FB: 33.3% (2019) / 4.8% (2018) ✔ Pull: 37.1% (2019) / 28.9% (2018) ✔ BB%: 15.2% (2019) / 9.2% (2018) ✔ You know he has an agenda when he mentions groundball rate changing 3% but purposely ignores fly ball rate improving 7%, aaaaand ignores HR/FB rate.

I've been a long-time Marlins fan living in NOLA. Have been reading about Gallen here and elsewhere and figured it was time to make the trek to the ballpark to see what all the fuss is about. As I type this, it's the bottom of the 4th inning, and wow this kid is the real frickin deal. Just in complete control of all his pitches, constantly pounds the zone, has a brilliant cutter, and just looks the part of a future stud. Don't get me wrong, I know I'm not watching the reincarnation of Pedro Martinez here. He's not overpowering. He doesn't throw it 100 mph. But he's crafty as hell. It's easy to see how his game will translate to the big league level, and quite honestly I don't understand why he's not in the big leagues now. Someone here mentioned that he's not on the 40-man which might be the delay. Maybe that's true? But I'll be shocked if he's not called up by mid June. Anyway, just wanted to share my thoughts. Fantasy players should be drooling to get this guy. He's not in MLB Pipeline top 100 but with his results and pedigree I'm calling BS. He's as good as any at this level and looks like a man vs boys. Game now moving to the top of the 5th. He's struck out 4 thru 4.1 ip and allowed 1 hit, but the hit was a homer. That raised his ERA to 0.96 hahaha, his strikeouts to walk ratio is 42 : 5. Just crazy.
