That's cool you were there. I watched the game on television and was extremely impressed by Ingram. Looks like he got a little hitch out of his shot. Free throws looked fluid, I think he will greatly improve on his % there. Ball will definitely help him. I'm very excited as a dynasty owner.

Little surprised no one had picked Rondo yet. 10th round is worth a gamble that he's back to being worthwhile, especially with two huge targets for assists.

Thought we werent going to talk about undrafted players (ie Winslow, Waiters)? Ive been going out of my way to re-read my posts to make sure I dont mention nybody undrafted in any context. Regarding Steven Adams at 94: Do you still feel comfortable with this pick after seeing he shaved?

I grabbed Pau to complete my Gasol Brothers build. But in all seriousness, I was very glad to grab Pau there. The days of him being an early round guy are over but he should be a top-80 guy with good REB and FG%. Every big I've targeted in the past couple rounds hasn't made it to me so I'm glad he did.

That's the kind of impact player you trade up to take. Thanks to all who inquired. Loving this league already.

Orgs can be conservative to a fault. The whole super2 manipulation thing is a questionable strategy -- evidence of how MBAs in upper management can dilute the quality of any specialized service by mindlessly chasing pennies around. Why not find out what you've got as early as you can, get a guy's first MLB taste in his mid-season comfort zone, and develop players at what looks like their natural pace? Say you don't ink him to a second deal. Whatever year you "lose" comes back as a year of service from the haul he brings in trade. If the Braves really want to win in 2019, then the pace of this guy's promotion (along with Albies', Swanson's and their young arms') will be critical. And putting a winner in the new stadium could go a lot further towards affording longer careers from this generation than trying to milk extra discounted seasons at the cost of development, wins and morale. Winning is the most profitable business practice. Hopefully their front office's history is a sign that the higher ups see things that way, and they bring him on up. And he smashes all of Baseball with god-like skills and power.

Someone pick Markief for me please and pm next up. At work. Sorry about the delay.

I was at his Summer League game and he looked like a much improved player. Obviously small sample size, but BBM has him as the #2 player in SL so I like the upside this late in the draft. Also, Lonzo Ball should help him more than Russell ever did last year.

Ill grab Davis and Mixon with my next two picks

now i can sleep. ha!.... not before some insights... passed up on adams on my pick 88 for this guy here, thought a cheaper version of him. dedmon will start and at least gets 25min. would be surprised he goes under that. the hawks are in a rebuilding mode. might get all the minutes handle.

I think it is a lot easier to notice an elite defensive 1B than an elite defensive corner OF because there is typically an opportunity every game at 1B. In the OF, days go by before an opportunity presents itself that differentiates an elite defender from someone being hidden in the corner. I assume the plays made in the OF save more runs on a per play basis, but the frequency of the 1B making elite plays probably adds up to a higher number over the course of a season.

nice pick. actually got sniped here. had a hard time picking brogdon and another player, at least you made it easier for me. hehe. yup, brogdon is efficient as they come. especially for a rookie though hes already 24 i believe. definitely more minutes this coming season.
  19. 1 point
Went back and forth in my mind about half a dozen players with that pick. Brogdon actually started off at the bottom of my list, although he quickly rose to the top. BBM has me needing threes, FT%, and assists couldn't hurt. I didn't really how efficient Brogdon was last season .458/.865 almost 3:1 ast/TO ratio. There's not many efficient starting PGs left who gets some steals and threes. Also, he has significant upside.

This song is now my theme song for this league. Everything about it. The name of the band- "Gang of Four" (My four 2018 1st's) The name of the song - "Damaged Goods" (Describes the state of my team now) Lyrics - "The change will do you good" (The rebuild is for the best). "I'm kissing you good bye. Good Bye!" (All my players are gone!) Treat my guys well. They will be missed. ?

Yet another prospect ESPN doesn't have in their pool to go along with Brandon Woodruff people here mentioned a while ago? What is wrong with them. People on ESPN like to mock Yahoo all the time in this forum yet Buehler was in Yahoo's pool from the very start this season. I keep hearing people tout ESPN but man if I was still waiting to own Bueler at this point in the season I'd be going nuts by now and be off looking for a new platform.

We have a trade. I am trading this pick 2.13 to @predator_05 for his 2d and 3d round picks in 2018.

I like the pick and I think it was a good one. However, that last month where JRich really went off, #WaitersIsland was on the sidelines with an ankle injury. We haven't really seen both a healthy Richardson and the newly improved (hah) Waiters, so that will be something to watch.

Went with Josh Richardson with pick #100. Once he was finally healthy last year he was putting up 1.9 3's, 1.6 steals and 1.5 blocks, good enough for top-40 value. That kind of combination isn't really there this late in the draft.

Just a little AJR update. He's been hitting well at AAA especially after his terrible start. His overall line is up to: .257/.353 OBP , 24 homers , 75 runs, 79 RBI, 57 walks , 115 Ks in 102 games (382 ABs) over his last 10 games .353/.489 OBP, 3 homers , 10 walks, 11 Ks, 12 hits , 7 runs, 8 RBI

A 3B and GS HR (27) hitting .340 in AA thus far. Still, largely invisible...

Sure there is, but knowing them, they'd be more likely to call up the AAA pitching coach than Honeywell.

I think you might be a little TOO excited there buddy. There's definitely some ace upside there but it's WAY WAY too soon and optimistic about the second half of that statement.
  37. 1 point
I think this is a big misconception. It's easy to be a bad first basemen. I bet it's pretty hard to be an elite defensive first basemen

There are just as many Hernangomezes as there are Smiths starting in the NBA. Fun fact of the day. You know it's the dog days of FBB when this is what it's come down to.

Improves to (4-1) with a 3.23 ERA, 1.08 WHIP, 9.39 k/9 in 5 starts since coming off the DL. Expand that to April 28th and he's 8-2 with a 3.61 era, 1.11 WHIP, 78 k's vs only 49 hits over his past 11 starts (67.1 ip). Hard hit and line drive % (coming into tonight) were way down since coming off the DL. I've seen his velo a tick down (still great though) and a bit more movement, so maybe that's led to something? Whatever the case, ground Chuck has been a solid sp3 whenever he's taken the mound since the end of April.

I suggest everyone buy this guy now. He was snubbed by so many midseason lists, and I don't see many scenarios happening where he won't be in everyone's top 50 by the end of the year.

Charlie gets absolutely no love, but over his past 10 starts he's 7-2 with a 3.67 ERA and 73 k's in 61 ip. Great, great game last night (against the Phillies though). He's been an SP3 when on the mound this year.
