Anyone have any insight on what will happen this weekend? Is Jordan going to be back or is Faulk the guy to have this week?

I think Faulk will be the guy this week and I think is a decent low-end RB2/flex start, especially in PPR leagues. Jordan has been limited in practice and I don't think will be much of a factor, IMO.....

I'd go Faulk as well, Green-Ellis did score last week but didn't do anything else along the way. Belicheat will rely on Faulk down the stretch just because he trusts that he can get the job done.
gorams
faulk for sure
ragujar
I think it depends on how they're going to attack the team. When they go 3 and 4 wide often like last week, they're going to use Faulk almost exclusively. When they are able to get ahead or feel they need to run the ball, I think they'll run more and use Green-Ellis more than Faulk.

This week at Indy, I gotta think they're going to want to run the ball and control the clock. Just a guess, but I see more Green-Ellis this week than last with plenty of Faulk also added in again. If LJ is healthy, I think he gets most of the carries.

i have benjarvis and lamont is on WW, but i think i'm staying away from either...i know indy is soft against the run, but sanders seems to be on pace to return and the cluster at RB in NE just seems to cancel any value for one in particular...

i guess faulk has the most value...'specially PPR, but stay away if possible IMO...

if lamont makes it through this week without aggravating his calf injury, expect him to take over benjarvis' role this week... if he's fully healthy, which is doubtful, he'll probably serve as the primary back with faulk back to his 3rd/passing down role... keep your eye on lamont and see if he practices today and tomorrow... NE doesn't play anyone who doesn't practice at least 1 full day

Yes, we all know Sammy Morris is around, although he is injured, but is it Kevin Faulk's ball going forward?!?! I mean he's great out of the backfield, and he seems to stay healthy without any problems (fingers crossed). What is the general consensus on this guy?!?
gohorse
It appears that he is the guy, with Green cutting into some of his touches. I'm starting Faulk vs the Colts....I have Gore on a bye.

Faulk may have been more successful last week but I wouldn't extrapolate that to this week as well. Belichick switches up his game plan from week to week. Indy's defensive strength is it's speed on the edges, the d-ends and the cornerbacks. Plus, they are overly-aggressive when it comes to pursuing and blitzing. The best way to counter that is to run up the middle. Faulk's strength is running on the edges so I suspect BGE and Jordan will get a lot more work than people realize because I think they will want to run against the strength of their defense by running between the tackles.

I agree with your analysis, but it seems unlikely that Jordan will have a major impact- if it's down to BGE and Faulk, I still see Faulk being the best bet.

LaMont Jordan (questionable, calf) practiced in limited fashion for the third consecutive day on Friday.

Jordan's ceiling is about 15 touches if he's active on Sunday Night Football. The lateness of the game makes him an extremely risky bet because there's no guarantee he'll be active. He is worth owning in most fantasy leagues, but hasn't played since Week 5 and it's hard to have any expectations.
MixerGuy
I picked up Faulk to cover my byes this week. That said, we talking Belichick so who knows.
sgtslahter
Roto has LaMont ranked as an RB2 this week... anyone actually using him who doesn't have a backup? I don't know if that would be ballsy or stupid.

dsmoke1986
I have to play him as my RB2 this week, it's either that or Torain, with my other guys on byes...Cmon Lamont, time to step up and show em' your skills!!
eom
jordan out.

wasn't really sure where to put this....

Posted by Christopher L. Gasper, Globe Staff November 6, 2008 01:22 PM FOXBOROUGH -- The Patriots are holding their afternoon practice inside the Dana-Farber Field House today due to the wet weather in the area.

Running back LaMont Jordan, who has missed the last four games with a right calf injury, was not present for the media portion of practice. Jordan had limited participation in practice on Wednesday and participated in all three practices last week, even though he was held out of the Colts game.

In addition to Jordan, cornerback Terrence Wheatley (left wrist), running back Sammy Morris (knee) and cornerback Lewis Sanders (hamstring) were not spotted during the media portion of practice, which included stretching, positional drills and situational work.

The Patriots were once again not in full pads. The players were in shells (light shoulder pads) and shorts or sweatpants.

Expect Law Firm and Faulk to get the work once again this week...Jordan is useless for fantasy purposes till he either fully practices and is listed probable/BB says he's good to go or randomly shows up active on gameday
Naboo
Im holding on to Sammy since he is quite valuable in PPR, but in standard formats Ill stay away from that mess if possible.
dannynoonan
I'd have to say at this point The Firm keeps the job unless he really screws it until Morris comes back. Jordan had the nice half at the Jets but has just missed too much and the risk of giving him reps to see him go out again is not good. I'd have to think that if Green-Ellis can put up a big game or two Morris will not be rushed back.

Green Ellis had a very nice game yesterday and has scored in the last four games. Has he cemented himself as the starter the rest of the year in your eyes or does the job still belong to Morris?

I would say he leads the pack, but would be hesitant to say he has cemented himself with Bellicheck at the helm...you just never know with that guy. They need a running game to open up the pass and once Def have to start respecting the NE pass who ever is running should see some open lanes.

I think BGE keeps the job at least one more week with the short prep available. I haven't seen any concrete info on Morris' injury. At this point if the pats can get Morris 100% by riding the rook i think they will. They have 0 depth at this point and very little choice. i grabbed this from Mike Reiss's blog on The Boston Globe
"<LI>RB Sammy Morris was spotted on the field, as he tested his injured knee with members of the training and medical staff. Morris had a brace over his left knee. One aspect to keep in mind is that the Patriots' next game is Thursday, so with a short week, Morris wouldn't have a full week to be ready. "

eom
yeah, reiss also said he was spotted running sprints, which sounds pretty positive.

when morris gets back on the field healthy I think he takes the job back, but the big question is when.
King Gonzo
Morris practice today?
Willie Phister?
Does anyone know if Morris is supposed to play this sunday or if it's gonna be a faulk and BGE show again?

He played last week but they got down early and Faulk came in since it was passing downs. Read earlier that Morris would have had larger role had they not gotten so far down.

I have him and will be starting him.
eom
as far as I know it will be a heavy dose of sammy, if the pats can control the game.
if they were to fall behind early, as in the jets game, you'd see a lot less sammy and more faulk, but I'm sure that won't be happening this week.......
B.J.
So is BGE written out of the game plan? He was just dropped and would like to grab him to add depth but only if he's getting carries.
...and im so nice
Dude fumbles to much.
I think Morris and Faulk are the trusted guys.

Morris runs the ball for NE the best.
Faulk is their jack or all trades.
Lawfirm is now nothing more than a backup.
