I have Dwayne Wade as my top PG...who will be taking over for him while he's out, Williams, Wright, or Jones???

Also, any free agents you would suggest picking up???
Some available in my league are:

Steve Blake
Randy Foye
Devin Harris
Shaun Livingston
Chris Duhon
Earl Watson
Juan Dixon
Damon Jones
Carlos Arroyo
Antonio Daniels
Steve Francis (what happened to this guy?)
SwisherHouse
you gotta pick up blake or foye, or both....all those other guys dont play basketball that good

I'm under the impression that Steve Blake shouldn't be left unowned in any leagues, especially with JR Smith's latest injury.

Also, Jason Williams is a fine pickup if his knees can take it, I feel. He's gonna log some heavy minutes.

If he has surgery, definitely dropping him in a redraft league...but if he opts to forego the surgery....what would you do???? Still drop him?

i like blake a lot but some people seem to think AI will put blake on the bench. I dont like iverson is a point guard, esp with another big time scorer on the court. with minutes blake is a great source of assists with some steal/3's whipped cream. I havent seen Foye play. The others are pretty much no good cept maybe Shaun. still waiting for him to break out (and stay healthy).

What happened to Steve Francis? "That is an excellent question Mr. Bender. And, I will answer that for you next Saturday."

Depends what kind of league. Head-to-head I keep him for the playoffs. Roto I keep him pending what kind of free agents are available. He's too good to drop outright unless he'll only be back for a week or two at the end.

Head to head league...I'm currently 2.5 games back in 3rd place in a 12 team league....

This one is brutal. I think I would hold on to him to make sure what we are hearing is in fact confirmed by doctors and such.

I would probably hang on to him as its Dwayne Wade and they'll probably just stitch a bionic arm onto him and he'll be playing in a few days, but overall its not looking too hopeful.

It wouldn't happen to be a keeper league would it? If so, there is always the option of trading him to a bottom team.

i'd hang on to him, in fact i was thinking about trading for him if he is going to be around for playoffs

I would definitely wait a week or so to see what he is going to do before I would drop him or look to trade for him. In reality the Heat are a borderline playoff team at BEST if he is out. I don't think it's any lock he is going to rush back. The Heat are 1.5 games clear of New Jersey and 2.5 ahead of New York right now and I just can't see Shaq being able to do enough by himself to get the Heat in. If in a week Wade has decided he isn't having the season ending surgery and the Heat still are not totally fading out of playoff position than I say you hold onto him for the playoffs, but otherwise it will be time to cut him.

This is difficult waiting time, I'd rather know asap if Wade is deciding to end his season or going for 6 wk rehab.
If he decides to hang on and rehab, dunno how useful he could still be assuming it will be like 6 wks and it's playoffs in our H2H already.. And as mentioned, it all depends on where the Heat is those times in the playoff ladder.

I think it's best to wait for a day or two and see what the official word is, and better be something definite. Hate that out indefinitely tag..

RJeff is still on our FA list and if Wade's out, I plan to snatch him asap.

what happened to francis? well new york is holding him down

At least trade him or release him so he can sign somewhere dammit

Dwyane Wade is weighing his options for repairing his dislocated left shoulder, but regardless of the route he chooses, it sounds as if he's done for the regular season.
He could have surgery immediately, which would obviously end his season, or could opt for rehab and then have surgery this summer. If he goes in that direction, he would likely not be able to fulfill his commitment to help the U.S. national team qualify for the 2008 Olympics. And even if he doesn't have surgery immediately, the chances are unlikely he'd play much, if at all, before the playoffs. A decision is not expected for a few more days, so you might as well hold him for now. But start figuring out who you're going to cut him for. Of course, some leagues have a "no-cut list," meaning those owners are stuck with him the rest of the way. In a season full of injury disappointments to superstars, losing last year's Finals MVP is likely the biggest fantasy blow of all.

So looks like dropping time?.. ouch

the problem with wade is that there is still the possibility that he will be a heroic figure in the last three weeks of the season. the scenario would be that the heat need him back to even make the playoffs, and he feels like he needs to come back in to save the day. there's a real chance of that, even now. heart of a champion, etc. i think wade can't be dropped until it's really over for him.
