Ive just about had enough of this guy..time to move his sorry soft arse..he can't it any shots so he is blaming it on his elbow and quitting on his team..what a joke..its a fricking bruise...if it turns out to be a ligament tear or something then ill take this back..but if it is just some sort of bruise he is a soft loser..

They said "elbow contusion".... that has been "bothering him for a long time now". That would explain his slow offensive start and his shooting has been in the tank
I bet they sit him Tuesday and give it some rest, plays Thursday night.

“I’ve got like 10 years left to get that streak back, so I don’t worry about that,” Anthony said.
And he’s not fretting over the ailing elbow, either.
Anthony insisted it wasn’t a serious injury and that he’ll play Tuesday night against Toronto after receiving treatment Monday.
“I’ll be OK, I’ll get through it,” he said.

i don't know how to feel about this. carmelo insists that he's alright, but he was also in so much pain that he couldn't pass, dribble, or shoot the ball right, and he also said he couldn't pick up his son after the game. how is that "OK"? and if he was in so much pain tonight, how is he so sure that he'll be fine on Tuesday?

i remember back in my high school days my elbow had a similar injury: the doctors couldn't find anything wrong with it and it was in the midst of a summer camp where i was playing upwards of 8 hours of basketball a day. the injury got progressively worse as the camp went on, but afterwords i took about a week off and it seemed to be fine...in the end i chalked it up to simple overuse after a fall on it.
my injury likely is completely different than melo's but either way it probably stems from overuse due to his lack of rest (he played in the olympics...). hopefully he will shut it down for a week or two and then his FG% will climb back up to normal and he will be the 2nd round value we all know he can be.

Anyone benching Anthony of for the week? has three games Toronto, SA and Sac. I could see him sitting out Tuesday, mediocre game on Wed. vs the Spurs. I am going to take the shot and sit him, play someone with 4 games.

hmmmm to play melo tonight or not to...
Despite not shooting at Tuesday's shootaround, Carmelo Anthony will play through his right elbow contusion.
"I really don't know how it would feel [tonight] until I get out there on the court and start dribbling the basketball, shooting the basketball," Carmelo said. "I didn't want to try to shoot in shootaround today. But I'm playing tonight." Though we're a little bit worried about an erratic shooting performance, there's no way you can bench a player of Melo's caliber because of something like this

I'm not sure I can start him tonight. With a deep team, those 10 minute games are just devastating. Anyone else think that there is a good chance that Melo leaves early again? Seems weird that he insists on playing without having tried to shoot around or anything since he got injured.

"POSSIBLE COMPLICATIONS
--------------------
Excessive bleeding leading to disability. Infiltrative-type bleeding can (rarely) lead to calcification and impaired function of injured muscle.
Prolonged healing time if usual activities are resumed too soon.Infection if skin over the contusion is broken."
Playing through this is just stupid if it means further injury to the impaired elbow. C'mon Melo, be smart and sit.

Yeah I really wish he would just sit out a game. I guess they probably see a home game vs. Toronto as a must win.

Until the next game when he can't extend his arm because he SHOULD HAVE SAT. Seriously, no idea why Karl wouldn't plant his ass on the bench. I guess they aren't playing for anything this year and want to wreck him permanently before he goes to the Big Show w/ the Brooklyn Nets in a few years.
