I don't really play any of these new games but it does look better than Frank Thomas' Big Hurt Baseball.

Im loving the new thing where you can add in your own music and voice for when your created player is walking up to the plate, im pumped for this game!

Well i know for sure its not going to be, Miguel Cabrera, Jose Lopez, Alex Gordon, Stephen Drew, Joba, Jered Weaver or Broxton.

MLB The Show is alright, and definitely better than the MLB 2K-whatever games, but does anyone know when the MLB rights are no longer exclusive to first party companies? EA really needs to get the opportunity to make a next-gen MLB game... I think it would be revolutionary. I'll probably play The Show '09, still. I like baseball.

Is there lag online with The Show i have a 360 and obviously can only play 2k9 and it lags so bad you can't play it. You'll play online than you'll go offline and play and you won't get a hit cause your swinging so early cause you used to the lag.

As for the exclusive rights I know its till 2012, not sure how long that is cause you know how they always have it titled one year in advance.

Rosters are usually updated till about the 2nd week in January IIRC.

Ah, thanks! MLB 08 still had Johan Santana on the Twins, but he didn't sign w/ the Mets until late January, so that timing appears correct.

Alls I know is the Lince-man will be on the cover of 2K9. Let's hope the game is better than 2K8.

yup...im gonna buy this years show since i skipped last years version...but u and everyone else(myself) included, are still missing mvp 05...and it would be great to see ea make the next gen mvp for these next gen consoles...the show to me is a wannabe version of mvp...but it will have to get us thru til 2012 i guess...2k baseball is crap, i feel sorry for baseball fans who have 360...

I really don't think 2k8 is that bad... I've played PLENTY of baseball games that I couldn't stand... Granted it's no MVP 05 and nothing ever will be, and I haven't played The Show. But regardless, 2K can't be THAT much worse? Can it?

The way i see it is i don't know how bad it is till i play a better game so hey why lets keep it that way.

i will never again be tricked into buyin 2k baseball even if the graphics are 10 times better then the shows...

Which one, though? If the TB 2009 is close to their 2008, then Evan Longoria would be a good choice for next year.

Details regarding new features in MLB 09 The Show:

"MLB 08 was widely considered one of the top baseball simulation games ever created and Sony is aiming to make MLB 09 even better. In addition to the usual features and modes (Franchise, Road to The Show, etc.), Sony is adding the ability to put your voice in the game. Public relations manager Alex Armour explained on the PlayStation blog, "...have you ever screamed at your TV at a bad (or good) play when engaged in a sports game? Well now your voice can be heard IN THE GAME by allowing users to record their own fan chants and yells and integrate them seamlessly into the ambient crowd noise. It'll sound like you're really there."

dammit i was looking forward to getting this but now that pedroias on it(yanks fan here), im probably gonna go with 2k9.

ive done that before and if i bought last years show...i would have definetly skipped this one too...but ive been dying to play a baseball game...i think i will just download another version of the cover later so i dont have to keep lookin at pedroia all day long sitting on my shelf...lol
