Wolves were on a run with the lineup they had on the floor and McHale didn't want to chance interrupting that.

He said in his postgame conference that in hindsight he probably should have put Al and Gomes back into the game a bit earlier but he was happy with how some of the 2nd unit guys were maintaining the lead. He also said he had a feeling that they were about the make a push and go on a bit of a run like they did in the second quarter.

So no cause for concern, just an off night for Al combined with an unusually hot night for some of the reserves (Carney and Cardinal were both playing well).
