During World War II a group of Jewish-American soldiers known as "The Basterds" are chosen specifically to spread fear throughout the Third Reich by scalping and brutally killing Nazis. I cannot wait for this movie I love Tarantino he is one of the best flim makers of our time in my opinion.

Holy Smoke I think I just pooped myself with glee.

I was kinda hoping that the team of 8 would have some more familiar actors but if he's going with the "everyman" cast that's cool too.

August 21st!

Sweet, I've been waiting patiently for a new Tarantino film! This looks pretty entertaining.

Yeah, i saw Public Enemies on Monday and when this trailer came on i got pumped. It's going to be a good one. Pitt's accent is hilarious. Midway through Public Enemies, i started to wish i was watching the Basterds instead. unsure.gif

I went into this movie fully expecting to finally like a Tarantino film (I hate that guy so much, one of my least favorite directors). The trailer made the movie look like something awesome, I have been waiting to see this for one forever...And I cant say I liked it.

It wasnt bad, but it wasnt good either IMO. The character Hans Landa is by far the best part of the movie, you'll see. But I dont know, I just didnt like it. First of all, the music was just annoying as hell and it seriously sucked. I hated most of the cast especially Eli Roth who I cant friggen stand and of course the only one from Boston in the movie (I know the dude is from Newton but seriously, you should know how to do a Boston accent. You fail, you suck...God I hate him). Um, the story is good, I liked the story but I dont know, I just think the movie wasnt anything special, wasnt anything worth remembering, it was just a blah movie. You guys might like it but I did not

The friend I saw it with was a friggen tool. He is obsessed with Tarantino and he gets up like and idiot child and claps and cheers at the top of his lungs when the movie ended. He turns around and he was like "DUDE, MASTERPIECE." And I was like, Yea not really, master piece of sh*t is more like it. Then he got all pissed, it was really quite sad

So there wasn't a real good chance of you liking this one. I'd assume that means you didn't care for Kill Bill either. I don't like M. Knight Shyamalan too much, but I don't really try and tell others not to see his movies or like them because of it. We all like different styles of movies, sounds to me like you just don't like Tarantino more than this movie.

Actually let me say something...Kill Bill Vol. 1 I did not like whatsoever. Kill Bill Vol. 2 I actually did like. There is actually one thing I like very much about Quentin Tarantino and to me, he is probably the best at using this, and that is his dialogue. Kill Bill Vol. 2, the reasons I liked Volume 2 is because it was not Volume 1 with all that ridiculous blood shed and idiotic fighting and the other is because it had such amazing dialouge.

Inglorious Basterds also had amazing dialouge, I forgot to throw that in there. The dialogue is prolly my most favorite ever in a movie. It was the only thing about the movie I can say I actually liked. I hate Tarantino but damn, that guy can use some terrific dialogue when he wants to. Most of it comes from the character Hans Landa who, in my mind, stole the show. That guy just owned Pitt, Kruger, Roth and everyone in the movie. He was subtly freightning, it was just scary.

And the same thing with Resevoir Dogs. I hated the movie but damn that dialogue

Based on your review, if you like Tarantino films, you'll like it then haha.

Loved the movie, Brad Pitt's character was hilarious.. especially the italian scene (if you've seen it, you'll know what I mean).. all around great stuff and very gory.. I watched it at Studio Movie Grill and lost my appetite pretty quickly, lol.

This movie was another great movie in the long line of great QT movies.

Yeah, it's pretty sweet. Comfy seats, not regular theater seats, almost executive chair-like seats. They have waiters who serve you throughout the movie, they come to you by you turning on this little square light. They serve all kinds of food: burgers, pizza, wings and serve alcohol as well. Great place to take a date.

We have an AMC out here that is exactly like that called AMC Fork & Screen.

Not a fan. Of the four major Tarantino movies, it's probably my least favorite. Brad Pitt's accent was annoying. But not as annoying as Eli Roth's. Tarantino's dialog is always great, but it can also be a bit verbose. There were like 20 minutes of long winded speeches and drawn out scenes. The Shoshona story line(s) were kind of boring.

However, what makes the movie worthwhile is the lead actor who plays the nazi "Jew hunter". He's just brilliant. The first scene in that movie was unbelievable. He has to get nominated for an Oscar.

I saw it this weekend and loved it. I will agree that the best character of the movie is Hans Landa which Darcmenace mentioned as well. It was a little slower than i expected, but don't confuse slow with boring, because I wasn't bored for a minute of it. The dialogue was amazing as usual in Tarantino flicks. I was a little dissapointed that there were no war scenes at all oh well still a great movie.

BTW the best Tarantino movie of all time is True Romance!!!

Great movie. Loved everything about it. Acting was flawless... If Christoph Waltz doesn't win an Oscar for his role I will officially never take that award again seriously. Story was on point, and dialogue, as always, was superb.

This is an instant Tarantino classic that ranks up there with Pulp Fiction.

I couldn't agree more. Fantastic film. Great story, terrific characters, and casting. Christoph Waltz made the movie and deserves an Oscar nod for sure.
