I've only seen and heard a few Oysterhead songs on youtube. I love armys on ecstasy. Whats wierd is i mainly listen to Metal, but I love anything that has to do with les Claypool.

I've been listening to Muse and Guster lately...they're new to me...and also have been rediscovering just how good The Clash is...

My guess (though i might be wrong) is that you are in your 20s. Master of Puppets and Ride the Lightning are 2 of the best albums ever IMO. Beginning to end, both are unbelievable. And Justice for All was OK, but the beginning of the end as far as I'm concerned. If you haven't heard these albums, check them out before you judge Metallica.

Mellowdrone - Very good band out here in Cali.

Spoon - Their new album, Ga ga ga ga ga, is excellent

Radiohead - These guys just keep getting better. their new album is also sweet

MIA - Very interesting group. American urban with trippy tribal sounds rolled in one.

Talking Heads - I've been getting into them again lately...very underrated band.

Seawolf - Another chill band here in LA.

NaS - Best rapper alive.

Culver City Dub Collective - Reggae band.

Of course early Metallica should be classified as classic! They were masterful from their debut album right through Master. But ... I admit that the song Some Kind of Monster gets my toe tapping ...

I may or may not have posted int his thread from way back when, but hey.

Metallica is far and away my favorite band. The fact that so many people dislike their new stuff really only makes me like them more.
There's no denying that the old stuff is better, but at least they had the balls to experiment some with their sound.
I'd have been alright if I'd never seen the "Until It Sleeps" video, but other than that...good stuff.

By the way, I finally got around to listening to the newest Marilyn Manson album & did enjoy it quite a bit. The music was unlike his early work, but I can appreciate change. Just about all of the songs were catchy, but I particularly liked tracks later in the CD like "Evidence," "Are You the Rabbit," & "You & Me & the Devil Makes 3." Solid album thru & thru.

Any thoughts on Dream Theater? I heard their song on GH:World Tour and liked the sound.

They have some amazing solo's they are much more technical than most other rock bands out there.
