So you guys think this will be any good, or is it gonna be your typical disaster movie?
Gary
Has some pretty good promise but It'll be ruined by a political agenda about global warming, even thought I would tend to agree with whatever that agenda is it'll get in the way of what could potentially be a great movie.

Anything with giant waves taller than buildings or mountains scares the crap out of me...

After having only that teaser trailer since last December, there's finally a new trailer for 2012. The special effects look stunning! I hope there's a story too.

That's pretty intense......i'd def see that. Cusack's pretty good usually.

Agreed with the above too. The huge waves: Scary. The ground caving in/City sliding into the ocean: Scarier.

Agreed. Like I said, amazing special effects in the trailer. That's the most eye popping scene so far to me, the city sliding into the ocean. I'm going to have to see this just for the effects, but I'm really hoping the story stands up to the effects.

It's Roland Emmerich, so.......it won't.

This is the guy that brought you:
10,000 B.C. (Lots of effects, but roundly panned by critics)
The Day After Tomorrow (Basically what looks to be the same movie as 2012; also lots of effects, but roundly panned)
Godzilla, 1998 version (Lots of effects, but roundly panned by critics)
Independence Day (You get the point...)
Universal Soldier (Jean Claude Van Damme and Dolph Lundgren...yeah...)

It's not gunna be good. Sorry to play party pooper again.

Didn't see either of those, but I still hold a special place in the very darkest pit of my soul where I hate Napolean Dynamite more than any other movie I've seen

Good points! tongue.gif

However, a few of the above I found entertaining despite not having the strongest stories. wink.gif

Other than the scene w/ the wolves, I also enjoyed The Day After Tomorrow. A disaster movie like this one is supposed to be fun & it was to me.

I watched parts of 10,000 BC in between naps. I highly recommend it for insomniacs. This one has the similar appeal of major effects, but seems like there may actually be enough effects to get my attention. Cusack and Glover give the cast some credibility, something other Emmerich films have failed to do. It's going to be hard to pass seeing these effects in the theater up even though I expect it to be kind of crappy as far as plot.

I agree with you and Highlanderz. I know movies like this probably won't have some amazing plot or anything like that, but I really enjoy watching them.

And yes 10,000 BC was very awful.

Hello.
I am interested in 2012, notably - the Mayan prophecy about the end of the world 12.21.2012. Many people talk about it now, besides, the movie comes out soon. I'm interested to read something about it. Disclosing this theme.
Advise me some articles please.

Thank you
