The Americans ended Spain's 35-match unbeaten streak in the Cup semis, 2-0.
Jozy Altidore and Clint Dempsey provided the offense, while Tim Howard, Jay DeMerit and Oguchi Onyewu led the defense in shutting down the Spaniards, who hadn't lost since 2006. They did so for several minutes at the end with only 10 men, as Michael Bradley was sent off for a hard foul on Xavi.
The Americans play the winner of tomorrow's Brazil/South Africa final on Sunday.
ESPN2 is airing a replay tonight at 11pm Eastern.

The card on Bradley was ridiculous though. It should be yellow, if it even warrants a card in that situation. Looks to me like he got a lot of ball. His presence will be missed in the finals.

Halftime.....I can breathe for a few minutes, LOL.
Brazil has controlled much of the play in the first half, but the Americans have tightened up up the defense when needed, and countered very well, especially on the wing.
Tim Howard is having another strong match, and is getting a lot of help from Jonathan Spector and Gooch.
Let's see if they can finish them off!

That was a Goal......USA got very lucky there.
Brazil's coming on stronger and faster. The Americans need to tighten up that D.
Timmy can't keep saving their skins.

Have to admit, I thought that ball went across the line before Howard punches it

Tim Howard is your Man of the Match at the moment.
Another great save.

Damn....tied match.
All bets off now, and you have to hope the Americans find the will to keep the confident Brazilians from completing the comeback.
Too many F-ing defensive breakdowns.

That's all.
It was truly a match of two halves, the Americans took control early, and fended off the Brazilians, but in the 2nd, they had no answer for the constant attack. Tim Howard stood as tall as possible, but couldn't shut them down forever.
Still, a step in the right direction for the USA, as they prepare for more WC qualifying. Hopefully, the offensive display shown in this tournament can carry over.

Caught the game after 2-2 and was getting up to date via internet feeds.
Second-half USA tactics should've better resembled Chelsea at Barca 1st leg CL last season. Should've fouled more to get the Brazilians off rhythm more! 13 fouls for USA (1 ylw), 12 for Brazil (3 ylw) all game.
However, well played by the upstart Americans--made some chances later too.
I don't think Americans will do even a hint this well next year in South Africa though, but baby steps first, baby steps.
As one writer put it: America will never be a soccer powerhouse until her boys and girls play feral soccer...rather than the soccer for exercise-get out doors popularity.
