Somehow Where the Wild Things Are escaped me during my childhood. I remember seeing the cover art, but I never read it for some reason. Anyway, the film looks interesting. I'm sure I'll see it at some point since I tend to like most projects Spike Jonze is involved with. And I also appreciate that the trailer features a song I love! smile.gif

I know I will love it, but that's because I loved the book, I LOVE what I've read of the new novel (Eggers is an amazing writer), and I love slow, meditative films/shows, and ones that focus on story and character development.

However, most kids/teens/adults these days love action first, and everything else second, and Jonze is an artistic/artsy filmmaker first and foremost, and I think it has a pretty slow pace from what I've heard, so I predict a TON of people saying "OMG, it wuz soo boreing!"

Ugh, directed by Spike Jonze? That and the TV spots make it look like the epitome of a hipster movie, which bugs me.

See...I knew it.

I saw it and really liked it. Pretty cool to see such a short book made into a 2 hour long movie. Jonze did a great job shaping the characters and showing how tough childhood can be.
