whats everyones expectation from prince adam this year with his new qb who has been known to like athletic pass catching tight ends?
gbill2004
85 receptions, 8 TDs, and 1100 yards.
jupiterhawks
Top 3 TE along with Dallas Clark and Antonio Gates.

Cutler loves his TEs, is a gun slinger.

Olsen is amazingly quick, has great hands and is a good catching and athletic tight end.

Looks like a beautiful formula.
3 times 2nd
The Bears offense should be improved in the passing game with Cutler....see Kyle Orton's preseason game film for the reason why. Cutler is going to have to throw it to someone and Olsen is the most talented pass receiver on that team. I think they line him up all over the field this year and get him the ball. He'll be solid if healthy....now the 1100 yard prediction may be a best case scenerio, but I think it would be possible. I would say somewhere between 900-1100 yards and 5-8 TDs. So, at minimum(900 and 5) he's a top 5 TE and at max(1100/8) he's the top guy in the league.
UcanTry
I think he will have a good year. He is my TE target, while everyone is taking: Witten, Gates, TG etc, Im sitting back and taking him later in most of my leagues.
jupiterhawks
Also watch out for Dallas Clark. He finished last year as the #3 TE, despite missing a few games. The Colts offense was out of sync for most of the year, so Clark could easily sneak up and be fantasy's top TE this year if Indianapolis gets hot. He is typically the 5th-7th TE off the board.

good input seems like it should go under the dallas clark thread though....

looking more like prince adam so far with zero production
GJDHouse
Getting double teamed right now almost every time. Cutler is really shaky. I think he will turn it around, but the Packers have their number right now.

I am a frustrated Greg Olsen owner tonight but geez Jay Cutler is such a b***tch. Get a grip dude, settle down and try completing some passes. 3 horrible int's already.
scc10180
2 of the INT's were his REC's fault
speedious
Ugh, I started him over Keller in one league and Shockey in the other... painful 1st week for me..

Can someone who watched this game give me some information on Greg Olsen. Did he get targeted, did he look good? What do you see for the future with him? If he is a scrub my team is F-ed so I hope this was just a fluke

I own him as well, and obviously (from my posts) I'm worried. However, the Packers D looked back to form, so it's a wait and see. I still think Olsen has upside, because their receiving corp is in disarray. Hopefully, the Bears staff can reel Cutler in, and start throwing some safer passes for shorter yardage (which would benefit the Bears and Olsen). We'll see...........
fatboyj711
olsen was double teamed for much of the game last night which rendered him useless based on how cutler was playing (not to mentioned, he dropped a few balls early)... if/when cutler, bennett and hester get on track, teams won't be able to double olsen without paying for it elsewhere...

Olsen appeared to be blocking, double teamed or just not open most of the day. However Cutler almost seemed like he knew who he wanted to pass to (or at least which side of the field) before the play began. He only passed (and appeared on TV to only look) Olsens way like 3 times all day. The first was a dropped first down by Olsen, the replay didn't show if it was all Olsens fault however it looked like it. The 2nd was his only reception. The third would have been a TD to the corner of the end zone, on their last scoring drive, but Cutler either threw it away or just threw it too high. It didn't look promising but GB kept the pressure most of the night (expecially in the first half).

fyi, olsen was targetted 6x according to nfl.com... i'm sure one/some of those passes was picked off...
bdams19
GB secondary is notorious for picks and olsen was double covered all day

I just wanted to revive a little Greg Olsen discussion for those who do not own him.

He is a perfect buy low candidate.

-In game 1 he was shadowed and double teamed as Cutler tanked.
-In game 2 he had a couple catches for sub-par yardage.
---------However, 1 catch down the sideline that he was HAMMERED ON (basically a suicide hit where both players were stunned) he dropped what should have been a 20-25 yard catch. I was impressed with his toughness to return to the game after a couple minutes...

---------Olsen also tripped in the middle of his route as the ball was in flight on what appeared to be a 20-25 yard touchdown.

I hate this logic but, had he made those two plays his Wk. 2 stats would have been significantly better in PPR and standard scoring leagues. Jay Cutler has too much raw talent to not find his best receiver. They may be out of sync a little bit early in the season but once they develop chemistry, he should be an every week starter.

I expect Olsen to catch a lot of balls on both intermediate routes in the middle and sidelines, as well as in the short game and frequent red-zone targets.

I REALLY would advise some people to see if you can target Olsen in a trade because it crossed my mind to drop him for a different TE or other offensive player after week 1.

good posting... if knox continues playing at a high level and cutler continues to progress in the new offense, teams will have no choice but to shift their focus off olsen...
Choppers
Can we panic yet on this guy? I thought he was supposed to lead the Bears in catches this year...
nomidi
Greatest stat-line ever.

Even then, he still out produces guys like Todd Heap and Dustin Keller. Sick.

Just pretend he had 8 catches for 81 yds and a lost fumble

7 targets and only one catch. I'm not sure how I should feel about that. Can't find any stats on how many drops Olsen had. Did anyone see the game?

I dropped him last week and picked up Anthony Gonzalez. I have Celek, and am rolling with him every week for the remainder of the season.

has gonzo really been on someones bench in your 10 teamers this whole time? he's been out half the season i would have launched him too esp. since my leagues are short benched and needed bye week replacements....comparing him to brees or all day is the thing that is funny...

I'm still using him, but I'm trying to pick Keller up this week and I may do matchups from here onward.

I still have him on a couple rosters, but he's pretty much perma-benched in favor of Heath and Celek.

If there were anybody on the WW that really tickled my fancy, he'd probably be the first I'd sacrifice for him.
dhil
Celek has been starting over Olsen for quite some time now on my team.

Cutler definitely deserves some of the blame.
sott3
Better option going forward: Olsen, Shockey or Keller?
BigOrangeScrew
I'm still starting him. Being stubborn to a fault with this draft pick.

I'll double that sentiment.

It makes zero sense.
GChicago
I always get on the Bears for handing jobs to players who they wasted high draft picks on. I really can't talk as I picked up Heath Miller as a bye week replacement for Olsen a few weeks and then cut him the following week. If I had any brains, Olsen would have been the guy getting cut, but he was a high draft pick, so he stays.

I love Olsen and he's riding pine on one of my teams with hopes that he gets it together but I would have to say Shockey. He's playing well, has a great QB and has a chance to be even better in the second half of the season.

I did the same, but I never cut Heath smile.gif . Honestly, it's not like Heath is guaranteed to be that much better. Historically, he's a pretty average TE. I'm just mad I missed out on the Vernon Davis pickup last week.
Baron von Smooth
71 yds, 3 TOUCHDOWNS with 8 minutes to go in the 4th.

Is this a breakout game for a good TE on an offense that's getting back to basics and "scaling back the playbook," or is it just a fluke?
smartfishes
I went with my gut and started Fred Davis over Olsen this week...........................
hard1
started davis over this numb skull as well guess the joke was on me...i hate this guy for having a banner day on my bench now lets see what stupid face does for an encore next week....
