Absolutely. Time to claim him if you need an RB with upside. Great playoff schedule: @ Tampa Bay, vs Atlanta, @ Indy, vs Cincy.

YEP...saw Washington carted off..(and that looked very bad) and though "i should pick him up" but was too lazy to get off the couch..
then saw him run for that TD and i was sprinting to the pc to grab him...

I actually drafted this guy as my big $ league is a 12 teamer that starts 3 rbs. It sure would be nice to be able to get anywhere close to this type of production from my #3 instead of choosing between Derrick Ward, Sammy Morris and Ladell Betts.
BTW, out of our 22 rounds, I drafted Greene in the 18th. In the supposed year of the falling RBs, AP, Rice, and Greene has a nice ring to it.

Leon Washington is done for the season with a broken Fibula. Greene is a MUST add in all leagues. Read this!
Leon Washington will miss the season with a broken fibula, according to Mike Florio of profootballtalk.
Washington will undergo surgery in Oakland because the bone broke through his skin, raising fears for infection. It's a crushing loss for Washington, who has turned down competitive contract extension offers from the Jets. Broken bones usually don't mean long-term damage, though, and Washington is expected to recover in 12 weeks. Shonn Green will get more snaps and should be picked up in all available leagues. Many draft predictions have Greene ranked as about the fifth running back slated for the draft. That has Greene somewhat agitated. “My take on that is I think (Ohio State’s) Beanie Wells and (Georgia’s) Knoshown Moreno … I think (they) are great backs, they just had another year whereas I had only had one year to show what I could do,” Green said. “Ohio State gets a lot of publicity but I don’t make that as an excuse. I just do what I can do.
“If you look at the stats and all that, it will tell you that I’m the top back. You look at some of those guys that I went head-to-head with and some of them I faced the same defense, and I did much better. I’m not worried about that. Whoever takes me is going to get a good running back. That’s how it goes.”

Greene is worthy of a pickup in most leagues, but I would temper the excitement just a bit. Washington was averaging about 12 carries a game. Assuming Thomas Jones's role remains the same, that's probably all you can expect out of Greene going forward this year. I'd expect a lot of 12 carry, 50 yard type efforts.
The main area that will be worth watching is who gets the Goal Line carries now, that used to be entirely Thomas Jones since Leon Washington is a smaller back, but Greene is a 226 pound power back. Greene did pick up a couple of the Goal Line carries this week, it'll be interesting to see if that stays the same going forward. It could actually mean a dip to TJ's value and an increase to Greene's (As opposed to Washington).

Is anyone not realizing that the guy infront of him on the Depth chart just came off of 2 great games....
Do you really think that he could turn into a "DeAngelo Williams" on an offense with a back as good as T.Jones. AND a trio of Cotchery, Braylon and D.Keller...? Not gonna happen...He'll provide numbers similar to Leon did.

Cotchery = bad hamstring and questionable for the remainder of the season
Braylon = cement hands and a rookie QB throwing him the ball
Keller = even worth mentioning? I think not. See above.
With only TJones & Greene splitting carries and Greene being a true power back, he will definitely get more carries than Leon Washington would have ever gotten. Are we even sure who the true goal-line back will be moving forward, especially after a performance like today's (Raiders...I know)? I wouldn't rush to drop a starting RB for him but he has pretty good value moving forward with the way the Jets are playing.
DeAngelo Williams? No.

I said in the Leon Washington thread that I didn't think this guy was ready to set the world on fire just yet. I stand corrected. I watched the whole game and he looks great, decisive power back who could definitely stand out on this team. With Thomas Jones not guaranteed for next year and this guy being a future back with this franchise I could see him taking this opportunity and making the most of it, if TJ gets banged up this guy is a definite fantasy POWERHOUSE, my waiver claim is in, really hoping I get him.

This guy is a FANTASTIC add in keeper leagues, but people need to temper expectations a bit. Thomas Jones has been really good, and yeah he's played some bad rush defenses, but he's absolutely torn them up, so what more could you ask for? Also, he gets the goal line carries, and he does a good job with them, so he's not going to lose that role. Greene got so much work today because the Jets had a comfortable early lead, and seemed worried about getting Jones hurt in the wake of losing Leon. That won't always be the case in tight games. Yes, Greene has some explosiveness and is worth picking up, but he's not going to supplant Jones at all, and figures to pretty much pick up the Washington role.

(1) All leagues IMO
(2) Greene is a true power back, TJ's GL back role will diminish most definitely
(2) It's now a 2-back system and if they're worried about TJ getting hurt, his value increases even more...moot point.
(3) Lots of explosiveness, true power back, will receive many more "carries" than Leon ever would have
