Can anyone fill me in on JRich's suspension? Is it for the first 2 games of the season?

Yup, first two games - for DUI I think.

What does everyone think JRich can do this year as far as averages? I'm thinking 17ppg, 5rpg, 2.5apg, <1spg, <1bpg. He's claiming to be more intense on the d side of the ball, but I don't know if that will help his stats, but maybe make him wear down.

I think his steals will be around 1.5 a game and if they run and gun like I hope they do he should get 2 threes a game with him spotting up in transition for Nash.
I think 17/5/2 is about right

2 years ago JRich was better than JJohnson. Last year he played with shaq so obviously the offense wasn't built around him. This year he'll get a good run.

5 rebounds seems low for JRich considering neither of the PHX bigs (Amare, Frye) are all that interested in rebounding. He grabbed 5 boards last year with Shaq in the middle, and Frye isn't nearly the rebounder Shaq is - we're talking under 7 rebs/36 minutes last year for Channing.
I'd say 18 pts, 7 reb, 2 ast, 2 3pm, 1.3 stl, 0.5 blk, 48% FG, 77% FT, 1.4 to. Other than the low Ast, I think he'll be outstanding in Roto. It's not easy to find that kind of production with so few negatives - nice %s and awesome TO.

Yea, I am glad to have snagged Richardson. I am thinking he will score closer to 20 in that run and gun scheme actually but we will see. I certainly will be happy if he post the line you have projected.

he basically averaged 16-17 pts a game last year, and that was with matt barnes, a new team transition, and a fat shaq slow it down offense. without those 3 crutches this year, i figured he'd average close to 20 a game

he was #25 per game the last 40 games of last year, and in the 30s after Gentry brought the fun-n-gun back. my only real issue with him is that his skillset isn't particularly valuable and somewhat easy to find later (are Jet and Barbosa much worse?). i still like him though.

2007-08 season J.Rich was ranked 17th in a standard 9 cat.

3 reasons I am optimistic he returns to 07-08 form:
Last year he:
1) had a knee scoped early in the season (never easy to recover even from "minor" surgery)
2) got traded mid-season (chemistry issues early on)
3) had to play with shaq as other have mentioned on this thread

I'm also hoping for a huge bounce back season, but his play so far in the pre-season has been a bit discouraging. Still have my fingers crossed for a return to 20+ PPG plus all those bombs.
Thats Ridiculous

leading into this season, i was probably the highest person high on J-Rich. thinking he's gonna lead the league in 3's, and grab a lot of steals.
but for some odd reason, i've become a little down on J-Rich. maybe it's because of a dismal unimpressive preseason from him. but ofcourse it's just preseason.
i've switched my attention to Ben Gordon. i'm real high on him. he could lead the league in 3's. huge points, huge 3's. also chips in assists, and averages about a steal a game.

im not too worried about his preseason numbers. unfortunately, jrich seems like the type of guy who doesnt really care/try in the preseason.

I would love it if he returned close to his 07-08 form. He is my dark horse to lead the league in 3PM this year.
I took him and BG nearly back to back (49th & 52nd) and will heavily rely on them for 3's.

I hope that Jrich can get back to form. I am a bit worried with Channing Frye now jacking all these threes. Frye is obviously now another option on the perimeter to help spread the floor. Lets hope PHX push the tempo to the Max. He has potential to exceed these numbers, but I see,
18.5ppg-47%fgs-4rpg-3apg-78%fts 2.1 3ptm-1.1 steals-1.7 tos....

In my keeper league, I didnt have a pick until the middle of the 8th round because of all the players I was keeping. Before the draft I targeted J-Rich as the player that I hoped would fall to me. I had to sit there for 7 and 1/2 rounds with my fingers crossed that nobody would take him, but in the end he fell to me!
Thrilled to have him. I think he is gonna re-turn to stud status in the run-and-gun Phoenix system!

With the way my draft turned out, I need him to produce to be competitive in 3's this year. I'm already feeling a slight case of buyer's remorse because it was between him and Bargs and Bargs was taken 1 pick after me.

Thats serious remorse. After 1 game from Bargs and no games from JRich yet, you shouldn't be so hard on yourself. He'll make you extremely competitive in 3's this season. Just wait until the weekend and start watching the production come from JRich.

Hah, i'm not being hard on myself. Seeing Bargs' line just makes me think "Well, I was right on that one...hopefully I was right on JRich".
That pre-season talk of him concentrating on defense more, and being aggresive instead of settling for 3's all the time also makes me wonder. But assuming he still makes his usual 125+ 3's, I should be good.

This is not just a bad game. 10-12 points is a bad game.
This is one of the worst lines I have ever seen for a player not hurt in the game. Pure sewage and I expect many more nights like this against tougher Western conference teams

Only one starter(Amare) had a good game, so I would chalk this one up. The most disheartening thing is that Barbosa was out for this game and it was pretty much assumed that J-Rich would tear it up.
