this is the year his ankles stay together..

Its not every night he faces the grizzlies who also are on the second night of a back2back. However I am a huge kings fan and I pray to god he goes off for 50 every night. This guy is the future 2 guard in the league.

i am on this boat as well. he ruined me last year with his poor shooting, minimal versatility, and glass ankles. never again. never ever ever again.

i might just do that. i drafted him yesterday though, and it's pretty funny because i was joking with another guy in my league about drafting him, than i actually did. i got laughs about it, but damn, i'm kinda glad i had him for today.

Sell high for who? Kobe? Kevin Martin's like a top-3 SG in fantasy.
Dr. Whom
Sounds like the start to every Kevin Martin season so far. He seems to like to get hurt in December for an extended holiday
nomidi
Kevin Martin is going to hurt owners down the road, he is no longer an efficient FG%/TO dynamo and is only a positive three-category player in PPG/3PTM/FT% (he is serviceable in SPG). His FGA volume at his low FG% is going to have a Stephen Jackson type of effect on teams and he is going to easily average more than 2.5TO-per game. Then you throw in his ankle injuries that seem very similar to what Josh Howard has had to deal with almost every season and you almost HAVE to sell high unless you desperately need his FT% help.

or for all those reasons you listed it will be hard to get accurate value for a player like k mart

Except right now his PPG/3PTM/TO numbers are inflated and many people are believers. The point of selling now is because his value is the highest that it will ever be, it is obvious that the pace he is currently on is unachievable for the remainder of the season and if anything he was/is one of the highest injury risks atop the early rounds.

I doubt many people believe he will keep up the 31PPG or 3.8 3's a game. but he easily can score 24 a game with 2+ 3's with the best FT% on volume.

He was drafted in the 3rd round for a reason.
fitz22415
unless i can somehow move him + someone else for kobe bryant or joe johnson i don't see how i can sell high right now and still have really good value at the sg position

Well, not many people trade a SG for another SG. Most people make trades because they have a surplus of value in one position and a deficiency in another. So in your case, no you probably couldn't get a better SG.

Rotoworld says...

Kevin Martin missed shootaround with a swollen left (non-shooting) hand and will be a game-time decision for Wednesday's game.

Martin injured the hand during Monday's game, in which he scored a career-high 48 points. X-rays were negative. If Martin can't go, Spencer Hawes will start at C and Andres Nocioni will take over at SF for Desmond Mason, who will take Martin's place at SG. Stay tuned for more information. Nov. 4 - 4:24 pm et

Kevin Martin will play tonight (via Sam Amick's Twitter) http://twitter.com/Sam_amick

Daily leaguers should get him in the lineup ASAP...

You got a temporary reprieve, KMart owners. Sell while you still can.

An MRI taken on Kevin Martin’s left wrist revealed a non displaced hairline fracture of the navicular bone. The treatment options are currently being evaluated. The club will release more information when it becomes available.

tried to sell high but noone wanted him. why do i keep drafting him every year? bah
Code of Hammurabi
My guess is 2-4 weeks...
stevemann
Would Udrih get more minutes now? Maybe Tyreke slides over and plays the 2?
kim
Just great. I have Martin, Harris AND Bynum.
Commonpremier21
oh my goodness, so soon
Code of Hammurabi
That's about as bad of a day of news that you can have. Last year I had Wallace, bynum and granger all go down in span of three weeks. I feel your pain

From Medical Textbook

"On average, the time required for a fracture of the waist of the scaphoid of a bone that is not displaced to heal is two to three months in a cast."

Well, there goes my season before it even really starts. What a joke.
MrBtotheG
That text says "waist," does your wrist have a waist??

When talking about a bone, 'waist' means the narrow or middle part of it. So the middle part of the scaphoid bone.

Well...just trying to let people know..most likely done til ASB if the reports are right. This is a very hard bone to heal properly.

Luckily, I have JR Smith on my bench and coming back next week. He can fill a good chunk of Martin's stats at least.

Does this man Jason Thompson gets more shots? Who else on SAC wins?
fantasymecca
nocioni's stock just went sky high after this news

Everyone wins. KMart takes a TON of shots.

do you think he's the main beneficiary? even while on the bottle?

In a 12 team roto (non-keeper) league do you drop a martin if he's out 2-3 months or wait it out or wait for him to push you over the top late in the season?

Take what I said with a grain of salt. It's just based on my med txtbooks. Not a physician yet.
bloopy
my guesses are that udrih and evans stock skyrockets.

nocioni...dude, he's in jail - can't get to the games in jail.

thompson and hawes - this will be interesting to see if they can perform without kmart drawing the defenses away and spreading out the floor. i have a feeling that these two will get hammered and be prone to lots of inconsistency.
Tarheels_2433
Well, a lot of pressure on Thompson and Hawes...this team went from really bad...to...well it should be interesting...

I think he's too good a player to drop if it's only 2-3 months. Stash him on the bench if you can. Unless of course you're in a 7-8 team league.

this is exactly what happened to me last year when i had kevin martin. i kept stashing him, waiting for him to be awesome when he came back. and since i was in a h2h playoff league, he was utterly worthless when he went down again during the h2h fantasy playoffs. it's a tough choice, i wish i had a good answer for you, but personally it didn't work for me last year.

Isn't it his non shooting hand? Kobe played through a broken hand on his non shooting hand, although he did miss some initially if i recall....i dont see why Martin can't...I'd wait to see the reports before you jump off the cliff...

i wonder if casspi can start at the 2.
he is 6'8 and fairly versatile.
i just picked him up in my 20 team league

Check that, I think it was Kobe's shooting hand...and kobe is tough...Martin...eh not so much...maybe it is time to panic eh? lol

assuming martin is out for months, are any of the kings worth taking over corey brewer or CDR?

If I remember right, Kobe had a partially torn ligament. Not a fracture.
