Sounds like the start to every Kevin Martin season so far. He seems to like to get hurt in December for an extended holiday

Nov 3 2009, 07:29 AM
Kevin Martin is going to hurt owners down the road, he is no longer an efficient FG%/TO dynamo and is only a positive three-category player in PPG/3PTM/FT% (he is serviceable in SPG). His FGA volume at his low FG% is going to have a Stephen Jackson type of effect on teams and he is going to easily average more than 2.5TO-per game. Then you throw in his ankle injuries that seem very similar to what Josh Howard has had to deal with almost every season and you almost HAVE to sell high unless you desperately need his FT% help.

Except right now his PPG/3PTM/TO numbers are inflated and many people are believers. The point of selling now is because his value is the highest that it will ever be, it is obvious that the pace he is currently on is unachievable for the remainder of the season and if anything he was/is one of the highest injury risks atop the early rounds.

I doubt many people believe he will keep up the 31PPG or 3.8 3's a game. but he easily can score 24 a game with 2+ 3's with the best FT% on volume.
He was drafted in the 3rd round for a reason.

Well, not many people trade a SG for another SG. Most people make trades because they have a surplus of value in one position and a deficiency in another. So in your case, no you probably couldn't get a better SG.

Rotoworld says...
Kevin Martin missed shootaround with a swollen left (non-shooting) hand and will be a game-time decision for Wednesday's game.
Martin injured the hand during Monday's game, in which he scored a career-high 48 points. X-rays were negative. If Martin can't go, Spencer Hawes will start at C and Andres Nocioni will take over at SF for Desmond Mason, who will take Martin's place at SG. Stay tuned for more information. Nov. 4 - 4:24 pm et

From Medical Textbook
"On average, the time required for a fracture of the waist of the scaphoid of a bone that is not displaced to heal is two to three months in a cast."

When talking about a bone, 'waist' means the narrow or middle part of it. So the middle part of the scaphoid bone.

nocioni...dude, he's in jail - can't get to the games in jail.
thompson and hawes - this will be interesting to see if they can perform without kmart drawing the defenses away and spreading out the floor. i have a feeling that these two will get hammered and be prone to lots of inconsistency.

I think he's too good a player to drop if it's only 2-3 months. Stash him on the bench if you can. Unless of course you're in a 7-8 team league.

this is exactly what happened to me last year when i had kevin martin. i kept stashing him, waiting for him to be awesome when he came back. and since i was in a h2h playoff league, he was utterly worthless when he went down again during the h2h fantasy playoffs. it's a tough choice, i wish i had a good answer for you, but personally it didn't work for me last year.
