Well, I missed my chance to get Chris Johnson a few weeks ago, and I'm regretting it. My league's trade deadline is the day before week 10, so with less than 2 weeks to trade, I'm looking for guys to target. Are there any particular people you are eying, either because they have underperformed up to this point, or because they have a very easy playoff schedule? Post your ideas here!
One move I just made was to trade for Matt Cassel. I have Rodgers and didn't have to give up much to secure Cassel, but with his ridiculously easy playoff schedule, I think he's a good guy to buy for playoff security.
How bout you? Any guys you wanna go get (or have that you think others should trade for)?

Hasselbeck, Housh, and Burleson... remaining schedule is a joke.
Same can be said for all Cardinals but to a lesser extent.
I would also look to see if you can get either Steve Smith cheap.
Jacobs is another buy low, as is Westbrook.

Agree on Housh, bought him last week, and he'll probably be cheaper this week after another stinker.
Boldin - might be out for 2 weeks, but if you've locked up a playoff schedule you can probably trade a guy like Santonio Holmes (or much less) for him or someone else of equal value that isn't as beastly in PPR. Stash him until the playoffs.

Seattle's schedule is cake, but housh isn't performing. Burleson is better imo.
How is Westy a good buy low? Typically he is solid, but this year I dunno.

I have a feeling this is the last week you'll be able to get Jacobs for a relatively cheap price. He should go off against the Chargers.

Well if your buying Westy low, doesn't that mean your taking less risk for upside?
No one has a crystal ball but he has a good chance to bounce back. But while your saying "I dunno", you may miss the opportunity to get him cheap.

If you don't think he's going to produce against DET at home, why did you trade for him?

I'm almost positive that Tru is referring to the effort he turned in against Dallas.

Ah - yep - completely read it with a different meaning. I'm sure you're right now that I read it again.

I traded Kevin Smith and Braylon Edwards for Megatron, I'm set at RB, not sure if the deal was great but I'm happy with it.

As a Calvin Johnson owner who is (obviously since my second round pick has been worthless) struggling to make the playoffs, I'd absolutely be willing to trade him to get some more predictable production in the coming weeks.
If you're one of the lucky few who's like 6-2 or better right now, I'd absolutely look to buy him in hopes that by the fantasy playoffs he's good to go.
The only concern is that once it's obvious that the Lions season is truly a joke, they may just shut him down.

Looking at future/remaining schedules I am debating between an Arizona RB or a Seattle WR. Hightower has been decent this year but seems to be losing ground each week to Wells which could lead to a dreaded split carries scenario. Then looking at the Seattle WRs, Burleson seems to be the clear #1 receiver but I think with their tasty schedule I think both Burl and Housh put up some solid numbers in the coming weeks.
Would rather have a solid #3 RB or a solid #3 WR?
Willie Phister?

housh is actually available in my 8 team 3 bench player league. Right now my WR's are Megatron, ochocinco, santonio holmes, and austin collie...anyone think it would be smart to drop collie for housh?

This trade might show who are some bye low candidates...
I just got rid of Mendenhall & Kevin Walter for Randy Moss....
I think all 3 are buy lows - Mendenhall & Moss cause people lose value after a bye for some reason and Walter cause he's been under performing.

Moss is not a buy low candidate..sorry i don't agree with your assessment that players lose value after a bye week...that doesn't make much sense to me.
Walter
Ryan
TJ
are all nice buy low candicates right now.

After a bye week (especially if a team loses) they forget about the players upside cause they didn't get anything from them the last week. They start feeling as if they need to make a move cause in fantasy a lot of people have short-term memories...

I think biggz is right. If the player goes on a bye and isnt in the news for 2 weeks it seems like some people, not all though, tend to forget what a player can do. Its no like they lose value its just they're not the hot topic coming off the weekend. OchoCinco might fall into this category considering hes having a pretty good year but not a crazy good and then he dissapears for a week completely. If you're gonnna trade for a WR I might go after him.

Moss is definitely not a buy-low
I don't think any knowledgable owner would trade Moss if they held on to him during his bye week...makes him more valuable if anything

Although he was much more a buy low last week, you may still be able to get Frank Gore for a little cheaper then full value....You could work the angle that he only 13 carries and besides the big run, which was horrid tackling, that he was 12 for 27 yards. He had a good game but he's having a bad season b/c of injury and the offense. But he has a pretty good schedule the rest of the way with only GB, Zona and the Iggles as bad matchups. He gets Ten, STL, Sea, Jax, Chi, and Det for his other games and he going to the rock. I like him going forward especially in PPR leagues.....May be able to nab him for a Forte sell high or something of that nature....

Just picked him up in a PPR last night, actually. I had the same thoughts. He's been targeted quite a few times, and with Alex Smith at the reins now he might get a few more receptions. Opening the passing game (Smith + Crabtree + VD) is just going to open up bigger holes in the running game. His remaining schedule is money compared to Forte. I packaged Forte/Collie/Reggie Bush for Gore and Bradshaw. My WRs are solid and I was just looking to upgrade on Forte, anyway.
Currently trying to Buy Gore in every league possible.

Only the most inexperienced, ADD Fantasy Gamer would operate that way.
You exploit BYE week lows by targeting owners with multiple BYE week athletes and offering decent value for a player that won't be going that week. Especially during the latter part of the BYE schedule, when certain owners might be struggling to stay in the thick of the hunt, can you get an owner to bite on these "bird in the hand" trades.
Waiting until the BYE is over, when the owner is about to get his star or stud BACK? Most gamers probably couldn't hit decline fast enough. If he or she HAD forgotten about the value of his stud player, well you just reminded him or her.
