Well watching them over the past 4 games, I must they are horrendous enough to do it. Even with Harris and Yi playing in the early go, they were still outmatched by the Timberwolves and obviously the Magic. Now with the added amount of injuries to their already talentless squad and their s#$% for brains coach, they got a fighting chance.

Watched them play last night in Charlotte and it was disgusting.

God willing LBJ comes to the nets or knicks (clearly im from NY). That said can you expect them to be anything but horrible? Sure they have some young talent: Brook, Yi, CDR, Harris, Lee. It may seem pretty good, but they dont have one single night in/night out dominating All-star, even though brook my be on the verge. They also play horrible defense. They are without a doubt in my opinion, neck and neck with the knicks for worst team in the league.

I think Wade is staying there. I think he will be joined by Bosh.

Bosh worked out there this off-season and seems to really like it.

absolutely they both suck. but i like to think there are positives in sucking, if you go about it the right way. you put winning on the back burner and see if your kids can play. if Gallo stays healthy and productive, and Chandler builds off his 08-09, that's a reason for a star to want to come to NY. the Nets managed to dump salary and the Knicks are going to do everything they can do to the same, so that's another positive. and finally, with a lottery pick comes the opportunity to inject even more talent into the 2 squads (tho didn't Isaiah trade the Knicks 1st rounder for Starbury? gross). so even if we can't watch quality basketball teams there is some hope for the future. it could be worse. at least they're not as hopeless as the Bobcats or insisting in starting Desmond Mason and Sean May like the Kings.

Devin plays like a warrior and has proven he can play through pain. he came back last year to make a final playoff push, when he could've listened to doctors and sat out the season. playing through injury 1 week into the season would be irresponsible, and he'd be without his speed and quickness anyway. as terrible as they are right now, at least he'll be back in a couple of weeks hopefully 100%.

I am not questioning his heart/ability to play through pain but I don't know if I would use the term 'warrior' to describe him. He is averaging 67 games over the last 4 years and is currently injured.

he is injury prone, no doubt. i wrote he plays like a warrior (admittedly an awkward description) and by that i meant he's generously listed at 185 and routinely barrels into the paint and draws fouls from 300+ pounders. he is by no means a puss.

Yeah he's a real gem. He makes it sound as if he's the first professional athlete to ever play through pain.

All the talent in the world, but you cant help but question the heart and attitude of a guy to make quotes like this. I mean does he have his PhD or something and we don't know about it? Come on Devin!

you can believe what you want to believe. why would a speed player play without his speed? he's not even an NBA player if you take away his speed and agility. plus it's not March or April. but why would he risk reaggravating the injury, or tearing his groin 1 week into the season? it's not prudent and it's not in the best interest of the team. he proved that he's willing to play through pain for his team last year when he played through a severely separated shoulder to help the Nets make a playoff push. if he was in it for the money he could have easily packed it in and called it a season, as people were expecting him to.

and i believe his payday came with the Mavs. i'm a Nets fan and wasn't a big Devin fan before he came over to the team. if he was soft and in it for the money it would show, and he wouldn't have become my favorite player.

and i own him on 0 of my 5 teams fwiw. i'm not pimping a player i drafted. i'm a fan from watching him and following him for the last year and a half.

So Devin Harris injures his groin in the preseason, then reinjures it upon returning in the regular season. He decides that he is going to make sure the injury- which he has already reaggravated once- is fully healed before coming back again to prevent ANOTHER reoccurence of the same injury. Then you use that to question his toughness? Seriously?!

I don't think there will ever be a winless team in the NBA. 82 games is waaaay too long. You'd have to have a total dearth of talent on a level never seen before.

The Nets have enough talent to win a few games. Once they get healthy they should be okay. Between Devin, Lopez and Yi they should manage to scrape up a few wins.
