So here's the goal. . .when Quentin Richardson is having his big week every other month we'll bump this thread and all pick him up off the waiver wire. When he spends the other 7 weeks sucking we'll let the thread fall off the front page. I'll start. . . .
So, I just picked up Q!! Wooo Hoooooo!!!! I'm going to win 3's EVERY WEEK, and I didn't even have to spend a draft pick on him!!!
CHAMPIONSHIP!!!!

Slim, starting, sleeper Q-Rich? I watched the Suns-Heat game last night and he looks like a completely different guy. Maybe losing all that weight will make him less injury prone and more consistent. I'm considering picking him up myself...

It's funny because even though he lost all that weight, he still somehow looks fat to me.
Maybe it's just his facial features.

He does look like he lost alot of weight. All those honeys in Miami will do that to you

What about the Q??? He has looked pretty good the last two games. Getting major minutes too.
Who's buying?

I decided to take the plunge and dropped Augustin for him today.
He's getting major minutes and Cook is supposedly out indefinitely. He's supposedly lost a ton of weight and is in good shape. He's on the last year of his deal and I'm sure he'd like to score one more contract. He'll get plenty of nice open looks with Wade creating, and is an above average rebounder for a SF. And when he's on he has the potential to carry your entire team in 3ptm in a week.
Sure he's bound to get hurt again and will have games where he will be a big drain on your FG%. But a 3pt specialist who can grab some rebounds on a team that is getting 40 minutes a night is certainly worth a look.

It disgusts me that it comes down to this, but would you rather have Q or Larry Hughes right now? Seems they are both in very similar situations as old teases rekindling their value..

Surprised? They're both playing for new contracts.
Im still not grabbing him though. His career percentages are 39% from the field and 70% from the line. No thanks.

Another 38 minutes played.13 pts 9 reb, 1 3PM.That's 3 straight games with BIG minutes. When is this guy a must add? Guys thatplay 35+ minutes a night and can board and drain 3's don't grow on trees. Do I add him over Augustin?

Yea but this situation he's in that is giving him little challenge for minutes and the role he's on on this Heat team is the best situation he's been in in a long time.

i like his chances of being fantasy relevant again. even if he shoots terrible %s, he will be an elite contributor in 3pm and solid contributor in rebounds. hopefully he can bring up his stls and blks again too.
i'm about to take the plunge too.

The Knicks gives him minutes too.
I'm favourite a Line-Up Chalmers,Wade, Beasley, Haslem, JON for the rest of the year and Q-Rich from the bench. His only weapon is his 3-point-shot and Wade is the ballhog for the most nights.

The last time he avg'd 30+ minutes a game it was in 06-07. He avg'd 33 min, 13 pts, 7 reb, 2 ast, 2 3PM, 1 stl. Why wouldn't he do that again? I have all FG% guys. He's a nice fit for me, but I don't know if I want to drop Augustin's upside for him.

Anyone worried about Daequan Cook coming back and stealing his minutes/starting job?
BigChipsHI
Nov 7 2009, 12:46 PM
im not worried about daquean taking away Q's minutes, Cook has been given his chances and has never taken advantage of them. plus if you watch the games, him and wade have a good chemistry going. Hes just what the heat needed at sf, a reliable spot up behind the arc consistent shooter who can contribute in other areas other than just shooting the 3ball.
the difference this year is that Q doesn't have to create for himself like he did in NY. he can play off the ball, move around and find the open pockets. Wade drives kicks it out, Q for 3, thank you very much ill be here all night.

Question is do you pick this guy up or leave him in FA. I'm considering adding him in my deep roto draft.
I could drop Augustin, Outlaw, Haywood, Speights or C. Brewer...tough.

He's not going to be hot every game. Even in PHX he was inconsistent - and that was all run and gun w/ Nash at the point.
When Cook comes back, I expect his mins to go back down to 20-25 mins.
