With the Thursday game this week, I figured I would pump one out early.

Start

Jay Cutler: SF is ranked towards the bottom of the league in terms of pass yds allowed. Peyton and Schaub are a few of the QB's who just torched them lately.
Projection: 260 pass yds and 2 Td

Frank Gore- Still trying to shake off the rust but had a nice game last week. CHI run D has been poor with no Urlacher. Allowed 75 yds to both Hightower and Beanie last week. Expect Gore to run all over them and catch a few balls
Projection: 110 rush yds and 1 Td

Marques Colston- Consistent all year up until last weeks 1 catch for 45 yds performance. Faces an easy STL secondary this week. The one game he played against them, he put up 8 grabs for 129 yds. Easy must start this week and should bounce back
Projection: 6 rec 85 yds

Steven Jackson- NO's rush D has been abysmal lately. First the wildcat tore them up a few weeks ago and last week Deangelo has obliterated them. SJax will be the next one to go off. Lets just hope the game is not out of reach too early and STL has to pass.
Projection: 115 rush yd 1 TD

Mike Sims-Walker- If this guy is not considered a stud yet, well then he should be. In every game he has played this year, he has made 6 or more grabs in all but one game. Nice late rd pick or FA pickup this year. Im still upset I tabbed Malcolm Kelly as my #1 sleeper and pegged Walker as 2nd. Then I recommended Sims to another guy in my league and lets just say Im not happy.
Projection: 6 rec 85 yds

Ronnie/Ricky: You know the drill when your RB's face TB. Expect big days. The wildcat will torch them this week. And Ricky is having a great year.
Projection: Ronnie 100 yds Ricky: 65 yds

Marshawn- I like him this week. Fairly quiet this year. But Im expect a decent game vs TEN
Projection: 90 rush yds and possible Td

Ray Rice- Will rip apart the CLE d. Expect somewhere around 20 pts in PPR leagues
Projection: 125 rush yds and about 4-5 catches

Jamaal Charles- Im not sure he belongs in the stud edition but facing OAK he should be. Just put up double digit pts this week. Would use him as a RB2.
Projection: 110 rush yds TD

Bench:
Calvin Johnson- Guy has been shaky all year and I benched him last week in a shallow league. Seems like he is just a matchup play for me going forward in that league. In his career vs MIN, he has put up medicore #'s. Averages 5 catches for 50 yds. So, I will still use him as a matchup play this week.
Projection: 5 rec 55 yds

Cedric Benson- Sure, he is on his way to a career year. But PITT sports the top rush D in the league. He should hit a minor bump in the road here. Probably still start him but dont expect anything good here
Projection: 60 rush yds

Mendenhall-Tore up the Broncos and taking advantage of the starting job. But CIN is the 2nd ranked rush D in the league. I like him more than Benson this week but still temper expectations.
Projection: 75 rush yds

Can you really advise anyone to start/bench guys like SJAX, Gore, Colston, MSW, Ronnie, Lynch, Rice, Calvin, Benson and Medenhall?

These are guys who are staples in their respective offenses and play huge roles.

What do you think about Ray Rice this week vs. Cleveland UD?

Is he a serviceable start or should I sit him for Fargas???

I'm not so enamored with Walker this week. Won't he be seeing Revis this week?

my thoughts exactly....you know Revis will be up for the challenge, as he has been for all the other stud WR's he's shut down.

i'm benching MSW this week...hope I don't regret it.

I'm a little worried about playing MSW this week because 1) they're playing @NYJ (I believe they're ranked 2nd in pass defense) and 2) Darrelle Revis is a stud. I'd imagine Revis will be locked on MSW all game long.... Thoughts?

edit: I'm a little slow on my reply... glad to see I'm not the only one with worries about MSW

From the game film I've watched, Revis locks on the opposing #1 WR unless that WR slides into the slot, then he stays on the outside WR. Not sure if Jax moves their receivers around enough to take advantage of this or not. Mike Thomas is a sneeky good play this week against a Jets secondary that is suspect after Revis.

How about we focus on Football players, not other posters?

Thanks!

in addition, garrard is absolutely horrid away from home... i'm not advocating that walker be sat this week, but there are several negative factors at play here...

MSW is a sure thing sit for me this week. Garrard away from home... all different kinds of blitz packages... no chance Revis is going to shadow old man Holt... also, Jag's D is so porous that T. Jones and Greene could run it down their throats.

Sure, he might break away for an 80 yard TD but the Jets aren't KC.

Yea, everyone do yourself a favor and take out Sims-Walker now.

I'm in agreement on MSW. Revis, plus road game, plus Garrard's unpredictability equals riding the pine this week.

I haven't really looked at it, but is that what it is with Garrard? He sucks away from home?
