Hey guys, Im new to the board but I have been into Fantasy BBall for a while now. This is my third year playing FFBBALL but my first playing Roto. Below were the results of my draft. I hate to ask for reviews as my first post but I would like to grab R.Brewer off of waiver wire since I think ill be needing some help in stls.

How did I do in terms of the draft? What are some other cats I need to improve on? The league is 10 team 10 cat (fg%, ft%, 3ptm, pts, reb, oreb, stls, ast, blk, to). Thanks again for all your comments! Any help is appreciated smile.gif

Heres my team:

Welcome to the board.

Just so you know, questions reguarding individual teams should be in the bench coach forum otherwise the discussion forum gets all clogged up with trade questions etc.

I made the same mistake at first and got jumped on. I will answer your question in a moment, but want to post this first so nobody else gets on you about it.

Haha, that looks like a straight rankings draft right off a yahoo. Nobody early, nobody slipping.

Looks good early, the back-end is very messy, but who's isn't?

I would probably grab Brewer and drop Ridnour. Delonte and Watson will all but kill his value. When he became a back-up last year, I think it was a career decision as Seattle no longer considered him talented enough as a starter. Adding Delonte isn't going to help him gain value.

Alonzo has no value if Shaq is healthy unless you are absolutely dieing in blocks. I would look for another C option ASAP. Actually, you have quite a few centers. Get the best available player.

Other than that, it looks like a team that could be managed and should be competitive. You need Horford to pan out with that team I think, especially with O-boards as a category. You look like you will be way light on 3's.

really? duncan, deng, davis and odom never slipped that far in any of my drafts.
i thought he killed his draft, especially the middle rounds, but his bench is lacking. a weak bench really wont matter if he makes solid early pickups though.

Wow guys thanks for all the helpful advice and commets! My apologies for posting this in the wrong board. How should I flag it so that the topic can be moved? Also, do you guys think my team could take the hit in lost 3's if I were to drop Ridnour for Rbrewer? I know I should do well in asts, and FG%. REB, OREB and BLKS should be competitive. Not sure what I should do with Zo as I feel it was a reach there to get him(guy before me picked darko and there were no reliable shotblockers left). I feel that my bench is not deep enough to package together in a 2 for 1 so it should be all waiver wire pickups from here on out. My question is

1. Will I be healthy enough after picking up Brewer with stls I feel that Brevon Knight should have a better year than last if he can keep healthy and should be a stl and ast monster.
2. Id like to package RDavis(should have some great value for the 1st month with dwade out and still be at least a 3rd option after wade and shaq come back) and Zo for someone but I dont know who I should target?
3. Waiver Wire is kind of slim pickings right now. Notable FA's inclue Rbrewer, LWalton, JPosey, Smush(bleh), Kendrick Perkins, Rasual Butler, Brent Barry, and Damien Wilkins. Kinda empty. Do you guys think there is anyone else I should drop for these guys? (I thought Walton originally but have been turned off with Phil Jacksons idea that Luke would be better suited riding the pine)
4. Finally I feel that I have a big advantage in Asts, Should I trade Nash for Gilbert straight up? Or am I giving up a little too much value? Although Nash has excellent FT% I dont feel that he shoots enough to make a difference. Gil's team is below. I would like to set up a trade for Gil and Maggete but dont know who I can give up. Any Suggestions?

Thanks again for all the positive feedback! I will do my best to also contribute to this board as much as possible.

looks like you're sorting your best available FAs by o-rank or whatever. try to look deeper than that.
i'd add perkins for zo though and brewer for either knight, ridnour or carroll.

Well, I am still trying to figure out how you get the 7th pick and the 18th pick in a 10 team draft? Wouldn't you have the 7th and 14th pick? That means that Duncan makes perfect sense there.

So, are these rankings messed up? You should have been picks 7, 14, 27, 34, 47, 54, 61, etc. That means that a lot of those guys went right where they should have. I was thinking it was a 10 team league, not looking at the numbers he posted. Looks correct for a 10 team league to me.

Hi, Im sorry I didnt clarify. It actually is a 12 team league however 2 guys ended up messing around(i.e)drafting the entire portland team cause they are from portland etc.

The 2 whom I feel are skewed to the left are as follows:

Team 1
1.(5)LaMarcus Aldridge2.(20)Brandon Roy3.(29)Martell Webster4.(44)Channing Frye5.(53)Joel Przybilla6.(68)James Jones7.(77)Travis Outlaw8.(92)Randy Foye9.(101)Tayshaun Prince10.(116)Luke Walton11.(125)Jamal Crawford12.(140)Quentin Richardson13.(149)Shareef Abdur-Rahim14.(164)Erick Dampier15.(173)Devin Harris
Team 2
1.(10)Yao Ming2.(15)Marcus Camby3.(34)Michael Redd4.(39)Andris Biedrins5.(58)Zach Randolph6.(63)Monta Ellis7.(82)Stephen Jackson8.(87)David Lee9.(106)Boris Diaw10.(111)Marco Belinelli11.(130)Jason Kapono12.(135)Yi Jianlian13.(154)Hakim Warrick14.(159)Joakim Noah15.(178)Larry Hughes

team 1 is an idiot. that type of stuff ruins leagues. he basically just turned his team into a joke. have fun with that league
The Czar
What is the problem with team 2? Yao and Camby are fantasy monsters and I don't see any reason not to draft 2 C's right off the bat, especially in a league with O-boards.

I don't like his team, but I could win with it and wouldn't call it a joke. He might have the 2 best C's when it is all said and done for roto and that is huge.

On your earlier question, yeah, you need threes, but I don't think Ridnour has any value right now, so getting Brewer is a better move IMO. Continue to look for 3's though.

Yes but I also get the sense that Team 2 includes half of the entire roster of the GSW(which I dont have a problem with, heck Im a huge fan myself)which is not nessasarily the best way to go when trying to play competively. I guess I shouldnt judge though since I am a Roto rookie myself and like you said, he could still save his season through good use of the wire.

My only reserve that I have with dropping Ridnour for Brewer is the fact that there are no good PG's left on the wire(i mean even kyle lowry was picked up which I had at much lower value)so does my Ridnour still hold any trade value? Should I hold out for some 2 for 1's? Or should I not think too much about and pick up Brewer since he would help me out immediately?
asmallchild
My honest opinion.

Drop everyone on your roster, cuss out the owner of Team 1, and call it a day. It's no fun to play in a league where half the owners are probably going to stop caring 1 month into the season because the league is just skewed.

I normally only enter into leagues where I know the others are serious.

Heck, we pared down one of our leagues (see sig) to 6 owners because some guys just lose interest in the middle of the season.

(which is fine if that means just no more active posting on the msg boards, or making trades/waiver wire pickups. To stop updating your roster is unacceptable though)
