Yep NFL network will have a Thursday game from here on out (other than Week 17 which I think is a Saturday game) I do believe.

I'd have to imagine any decent sports bar will have it on. Biggest regular season game in the NFC this year.

I am incredibly annoyed about this NFL Network thing.

Any way to order one game on a pay per view basis?
RAEF715
the nfl just cant make enough money to be happy, can they? they are trying to force their network down the throats of cable employees, and force them to pay a fee for all their subscribers for the entire year when people want this network only for november and december....
maybe i'll see if i can add a tier to my cable coverage quick before thursday..otherwise, im going to be forced to grovel to my cowboys fan neighbor to let me come over and watch the game....

doing the pay per view thing would be the fair thing to do, and they would make a ton..how many people do you think would be willing to put down $5, or $10 to see that game?

they potentially have new england trying to go 16-0 the final week against the giants too

I have the NFL network, and will be watching, it's a shame that everyone won't be able to see this game, that really sucks. I know the local cable company here does not offer the NFL network, so I got a dish. I like GB in this game,

Go Green Bay! I actually went to school in MN for four years and got experience the Vikings/Packers rivalry first hand. I chose my side...the Pack!

Line currently has Dallas -6.5

Brett Farve at Texas Stadium career record of 0-7.

INJURIES

The Packers didn't update CB Charles Woodson's status on Sunday.

The team plays on Thursday, and doesn't have to release an injury report until Tuesday. Woodson wasn't seen at practice on Thursday, and his absence would boost Tony Romo and company's matchup. Coach Mike McCarthy didn't reveal if Woodson would continue to return punts, but Tramon Williams figures to take his spot.

The Packers are "concerned" about S Aaron Rouse, who injured his knee in Week 12 against Detroit.

Rouse had started the last three games in place of Nick Collins. Collins returned to practice on Sunday, but it's unclear if he'll be able to play Thursday. The Packers signed Marviel Underwood on Sunday to provide some depth at the position.

Packers coach Mike McCarthy confirmed Friday that Kabeer Gbaja-Biamila suffered knee and ankle sprains in Thursday's Thanksgiving win.

Gbaja-Biamila could be listed as questionable for next Thursday's tilt against the Cowboys. Green Bay's third end has 9.5 sacks on the season.

Packers placed DT Colin Cole on injured reserve with a fractured forearm, ending his season.

The 330-pound Cole's loss will hurt Green Bay's interior depth, but the Packers are pretty stacked behind starters Corey Williams and Ryan Pickett. Cole will be an interesting restricted free agent this coming offseason.

I don't see the Cowboys giving up this one.

If Woodson can't go, that will be huge. Although, I'm sure they will put Al Harris on T.O., so Woodson would just get the "other" Dallas receiver. So, no big deal.

KGB is a liability in the run game and if he can't get around the edge his pass rush is weak. So, really, no big deal there.

Colin Cole was having a great year, IMO, that's a big loss. They do have great depth at the position but it still hurts.

I unfortunately have class on Thurs. nights so I will be DVRing the game and watch when I get home. It sucks!

I really hope the Pack can pull this one out. If not, oh well, they are still 10-2 which is waaaay better than anyone was expecting this year.

No go on the pay per view. Just head to a sports bar or restaurant for dinner and drinks. And then call your cable company and tell them to pay the NFL what they are worth. Or you can just go satellite. Directv runs killer deals prior to the football season if you sign a two year contract. I think I got the nfl sunday ticket free for a year, four months of premium services free, a discounted hd dvr, six months hd programming free, and a free idpod shuffle for signing up two Augusts ago. I was hesitant at the $300 fee for the sunday ticket this year, but it's already paid for itself twice over so far this year.

Well the other receiver Crayton, IMO isn't a slouch. He's really the #3 option in the passing game behind Witten.

Just FYI, I just "bought" the NFL Network package from Comcast. They have a special $5/month for 3 months + $1.99 install. Cancel anytime. I'm cancelling it after Thursday night. Cheaper than going to a bar if you want to stay home...

Plus, Week 17 Pats-NYG is scheduled for NFL Network...

He's not a slouch but if Woodson is healthy, he should have no problem shutting him down.

I'll have pulled my hair out by game time, I have to choose whether to start Romo or Favre....!!!!!
malta69
I just called and got the comcast sports package added. It took all of five minutes. They are running a special where its only $1.99 a month for 6 months and then five bucks a month after that. That isnt bad at all, I dont know what all these people in the area I live are complaining about.

The other channels dont sound that bad....there are like 6 college sports channels, an NBA channel and I think the customer service rep said it also something about it including two soccer channels which is kinda lame but its still not a bad deal.

Works out MUCH cheaper than the $30 or $40 you'd drop every Thursday night going out with the boys to watch the games.

I'm in a similiar situation, but to a lesser degree. I'm in a must win situation where I need to decide between the Packers and Cowboys DEF.

So far, despite the injury information I'm hearing, I still lean slightly towards the Packers. Romo loves coughing up a few picks a week lately it seems,

All Thursday and Saturday night games will be (or at least were last year) on the NFL Network from here on out, so keep it until the playoffs.
daybubet
If you have Comcast as your provider, you can get a package of the NFL Network and NBATV for about $5/month, so even though you feel like you're being jacked, at least you get more than 2 months of games out of it if you watch the NBA.

I called them up when I went to watch the first preseason game on the NFL Network and saw that it wasn't free anymore.
daybubet
Guess I should have read the whole thread before I posted.

lesson learned
RAEF715
yes, i caved and gave in to nfl network for the $1.99 first six months..it has nba, nhl some soccer channels and three fox sports channels with college basketball games, so i'll dump it when college basketball ends...
its more to have the people that want the channels pay for them...if only i could give up the 75 channels i never watch and get some money back from comcast...

THE COWBOYS AND PACKERS ARE PLAYING THE MOST IMPORTANT GAME OF THE YEAR NEXT TO THE PATS AND COLTS GAME AND ITS AIRING ON NFL NETWORK! IS THAT NOT CRAZY OR WHAT? I KNOW THERE IS NOT MUCH THEY CAN DO, BUT COME ON, ONLY %40 OF THE PEOPLE WILL BE ABLE TO TUNE IN. THIS WILL BE AN INSTANT CLASSIC, FAVRE AND ROMO WILL LIGHT UP THE SCORE BOARD, IM A HUGE COWBOYS FAN SO I WILL PICK THE BOYS', BUT THE PACK AND FAVRE WILL COME TO PLAY.

COWBOYS - 31
PACKERS - 28

Yeah, I hear ya. I've skipped a lot of classes early in my college career, I don't want to start making the same mistake again. Sure, I'll just skip this class and that's it. Well, what about next week when something else comes up? I've already missed one class, what's the big deal if I miss two? The next thing you know I'm in Tijuana passed out drunk with a goat. It's happened over and over....

Yeah, shame on you NFL for trying make money...

Seriously man, I'm glad they make money on one of the greatest products ever, US football. Also, do your homework and you will see that the NFL has been fighting Comcast to get the network in the basic package. It's the cable company taking it to you NOT the NFL Network.

At the same time, the NFL should have done their own due diligence and made sure their network was added to all basic cable subscriptions before scheduling regular season games. To be honest, the NFL is doing themselves a great disservice with the network so far as they are losing millions of viewers for what should be a highly anticipated contest.

can I find this game broadcast over the internet any where?
Wordsworth
This game won't be seen in over 70 million households, yet it's the best NFC matchup of the year. The NFL and cable companies are making a killing off these blackout restrictions and exclusive broadcasts. I've been a proponent of showing more games for years now and they don't seem remotely interested in doing so. The NFL is the largest and most lucrative sports entity in this hemisphere, their entire system plays on ONE DAY A WEEK, yet they refuse to let anyone watch more than 2-3 games. If you don't count Monday or the next four Thursday games, there are 10-12 games on a given weekend that nobody but local fans will get to see. That is some fucking bullshit. They're missing out on GIGANTIC piles of ratings.

I also wish they'd cut to more competitive matchups when a game is a blowout. They don't do that enough.

They're missing out on a gold mine by limiting what games regions get to see. Some of the best matchups of the year go largely unwatched because of blackout limitations and broadcast contract fine-print. It's a giant money grab that the NFL is hoping will force people to adopt their shitty little network with its poor commentating and weak content. You'd think they would want this game on Fox where it belongs, and where it could get 400% more viewers.
mceclipse02
You know what's even more incredible.. This thread has already filled 3 pages and the game is still 4 hours away!! lol..

My coworker sends me this link NOW....well after the game is over. He did this at 6pm EST today and got the game for free. rolleyes.gif

Apparently, Comcast will give u NFL network for free if you call in and ask for it. Comcast VP called in to an ESPN radio show and told ppl to call and get this added to ur acct for free for the rest of the season. See that thread in the link above for more details.
