Rotoworld: Suns forward Grant Hill will undergo an appendectomy on Wednesday night which will sideline him for about two weeks.
The only 3 things for certain in life are death, taxes, and Grant Hill missing games.

damnit. but at least this isn't injury related. you can't exactly prevent an appendectomy

Is Diaw going to see more minutes now?

Should be some nice temporary value for Diaw.
I think Marion will score more too.

Meh - how many games will this amount to? A two week break might keep him healthier to finish the season. He's playing at a top 25 level when healthy, and you can't trade him because everybody wants an injury discount. Considering Hill was likely taken late in ones draft or went undrafted, he's been an absolute steal for owners - Take the good with the bad with Hill.

Rotoworld also mentions that Banks's value should go up. Is this realistic?

I doubt it, Barbosa and Diaw still need more minutes.

Finally, the window of opportunity for the snake oil salesmen of fantasy to sell high on Boris Diaw has opened!

I don't know how this would really increase Banks time since Hill played SF and Banks was a G. But I do think that players like Marion will get more shots, which should help their numbers. Someone has to take the 10-15 shots a game that Hill was putting up.

Banks will see more minutes regardless as the Suns play even smaller ball.

Doubt it, as soon as he gets it goin Hill will be back. We're only talkin 2 weeks here, I don't know their schedule but that could only amount to 4-7 games. I would hope the other owners in your league have some savy.

I'm watching Diaw but i doubt he ever shows up like two years ago again. Even w/ 35 mpg he won't crack double digits in points, and his peripherals are still pedestrian. Marion will be the biggest gainer.

Its gonna suck for me since the team I am facing this week has Marion but I am streaming Bell and Diaw. See if they can help me out tomorrow.

Banks should be good for 3 three's and two steals a game in the fast-paced phoenix attack

I think the biggest winner is going to be Raja Bell. His number is finally going to be called and we will see numbers similar to last season.
diaw will take a nice bump, but nothing great. Marion will pick up more slack than him
The biggest revaltion I think will be how much better the suns will be. I think a lot of their chemistry issues stem through little fault of his own through Hill.
The reason the Suns were so unstobably is because they were able to keep everyone happy on the team. Everyone got to be a star.
Clearly it was a tenuious arrangement and Hill tipped the scale. Everyone on the team is putting up lower numbers this season than last and the only major difference between this year's team and last is Grant Hill.
I think the Suns will start playing better ball without Hill and his role will begin to dimish slowly but surely.

agreed. as a marion owner its nice to see more plays run for him with the end result being better shot selections for him. hill is a good player, but i dont know if he really adds anything that they didn't already have.

I picked Bell up yesterday after Antonio Daniels had such an awful game and my entire team only made 1 three. With the news today that Grant Hill is out and seeing this Line, I am stoked. Raja is finally playing like he was last season. Lets just hope Grant Hill misses more time.
