What kind of news? I watched a lot of it on TV. There were only a few people who actually impressed me.

Well who impressed you? That's pretty much what I meant by news. Who looked good and who looked shaky.

Leaving the obvious people out: both Longs, McFad, Mendenhall.
Impressed by:
DeSean Jackson - WR - Performed very well and ran a 4.31 i believe. Good hands. Only bad thing about him is his size but he has the skills.
Jamaal Charles - RB - Extremely fast, I see a little Westbrook in him.
Jonathon Stewart - RB - This guy really impressed me. extremely agile and quick for his size. Marion Barber IV anyone?
Chris Williams - OT - Performed very well I thought especially during the drills. Surprised me especially with most talk being focused around Jake Long.
Vernon Gholston - DE - If Chris Long wasn't the clear #1 DE, Gholston would be right there to take that spot from him.
Antoine Cason - CB - Holy crap. This kid is about as athletic as they come...Easily could become a legitimate CB in this league. What he can get with his speed he can make up for with his leaping ability.
Dominique Rogers Cromartie - CB - I would be surprised if he fell past the top 12. I think everyone was impressed with this kid.
Dissappointed by:
Mario Manningham - WR - Came in high prospect, and in my eyes he left as a huge talent but had a horrible day. Maybe nerves got the best of him or he was rusty. He couldn't catch anything and his 40 wasn't where people thought it would be.
Jeff Otah - OT - Performed horribly...Looked like a mule, one that lacked agility at that. Supposedly had a bum ankle during combine workouts but he still looked like crap.
Aquib Talib - CB - He looked clumsy in most of the drills. I think he was projected to be a 1st rounder, I don't see it after that performance.

I was suprised to see Philip Merlings name up there in the top 10 (Im a clemson fan and I know hes good) but since he was only a junior I didnt expect him to go until the 2nd round and thought another year would of helped him. Cromartie has looked awesome and I hope the Packers draft him

Among the tight ends, John Carlson did well, I think he's still #1 in that group. Dustin Keller was impressive in the drills; he may have moved up a little in the early rounds.

Having seen both play quite a bit in person I was interested on z32's post on Gholston and Manningham. C. Long is the consensus top end among many scouts right now, but I wouldn't be the least bit surprised to see Gholston have the better career. I think he's a more well rounded end than Long. There's not a better pash rusher in the draft than Long, but his run support pales in comparison to Gholston from what I have seen watching games.
Manningham is one of those guys that I really have big questions about (even as a Michigan fan). He used the double move a lot and most of his success came down-field in situations that often don't come up in NFL games. He needs to be in an offense with a great pass blocking O-Line, because his success at Michigan was predicated on Henne having plenty of time to let the play develop. He wasn't a very good possession receiver at the college level and I feel he needs to put on some weight to maximize his potential. That said, I can't recall him ever dropping an easy catch at U of M, so I'd say if he was having problems catching the ball at the combine it was likely an issue of nerves rather than talent. In the right offense he could be an absolute stud, but in a ball control type of offense I don't see him doing much.
