I remember talking with a couple people last summer about the game offered through Yahoo, and the 08/09 season is now up and ready for signups. The cheapness of new imports was nice (Torres started around 6.5), but transfer rules didn't allow selling players for profit.
I'd like to get some feedback before creatign a team. Has anyone signed up already or are planning to?

I went ahead and set up a team just to see how the game looks, and here's the report:
Graphics have been enhanced, and instead of the stale, black and white look, they now show the roster in it's formation. Player profiles have also been slightly upgraded. That's the good news.
The roster still only consists of the 11 starters, purchased with £100m, so prices are inflated accordingly. Cristiano Ronaldo costs £14m in the Barclay's game, but £27.9m on Yahoo. You can't touch a good goalkeeper for less than £10-11m....unless you believe in Brad Friedel. Many players who have transferred are still listed with previous teams (Crouch is with Liverpool), but some changes have been accurately reflected (Steve Sidwell with AV).
You may fit those XI into one of four formations: 3-5-2, 3-4-3, 4-3-3, 4-4-2
The bad news is that players may still only be sold for their purchase price, which was probably the #1 complaint about their game. I still don't understand why you can't sell players for profit, and by getting Boswingwa and Modric on the cheap, I can't sell them unless they tank. Last year, I accidentally sold Fernando Torres for about £6m, when his value had risen over £15m. Not only did my team value sink, but I wasn't able to adequately replace El Nino.
For the record, my £100m bought me a lineup of:
(4-4-3) Tim Howard, Rio Ferdinand, Jose Bosingwa, Gareth Bale, Cesc Fabregas, Joe Cole, Antonio Valencia, Modric, Roque Santa Cruz, Tuncay and Peter Crouch
