  1. batting 9th today ... at least he's playing
  2. I cut him a few years back after seeing this "highlight"
  3. well he does have some MI choices in Mayfield and DeGoti. Every time I see this thread bumped I'm hoping they've called up Alvarez only to be disappointed
  4. hay wrist, straw wrist, hay wrist, straw wrist During the Civil War drill sergeants repeatedly found that among the raw recruits there were men so abysmally untaught that they did not know left from right, and hence could not step off on the left foot as all soldiers should. To teach these lads how to march, the sergeants would tie a wisp of hay to the left foot and a wisp of straw to the right; then, setting the men to march, they would chant, “Hay-foot, straw-foot, hay-foot, straw-foot”—and so on, until everybody had caught on. A common name for a green recruit in those days was “strawfoot.”
  5. his bat is hot right now but his BB/K ratio is horrid. he'll soon return to his career .230 avg and .665 OPS
  6. just curious, does Law have Seth Beer in his Top 100? Would be hilariuos considering hes a worse defender than Alvarez
  7. sitting today vs Richie the Blister Hill
  8. Is Kapler going to have him close games
  9. a severe concussion ruined the career of Justin Morneau. He was a stud 1B for the Twins and was in the midst of another great season at the age of 29 when a mid season concussion finished his 2010 season. He was never the same player. For a truly sad story check out his stats before and after his concussion in July, 2010. What might have been https://www.baseball-reference.com/players/m/morneju01.shtml
  10. just saw the box score ... my first rage drop of the season
  11. Doolittle crapping all over my ratios ... thanks for little
  12. historically April has been his worst month followed by May as his 2nd worst month, He typically heats up in June (.317 career avg)
  13. Go to your Team page and then click on "min/max" it will list your games played by position and your over/under pace. at the bottom will be your team's IP and the projected pace over/under
  14. I think they'll bring up Ross Detweiler and let Cease work on his craft
  15. Marlins are 10 - 30 ... on pace to match the 1962 expansion N.Y. Mets record of 40 - 120
  16. I'm keeping him on the bench tonight. His away splits are ugly (SSS) with a 6.38 ERA and a WHIP of 1.58
  17. Well if he can't hit .500 with a minimum of 1 HR and 2 RBI per game there's no use calling him up
  18. I hope I'm wrong but I'm starting to get some Ian Happ vibes
  19. he's out for another few weeks minimum Reds transferred 2B Scooter Gennett from the 10-day injured list to the 60-day injured list. The move clears a spot on the 40-man roster for Nick Senzel. Gennett now officially can't return from his right groin strain until late May. May 3, 2019, 10:43 AM ET
  20. from the dead? he had a minor slump ... it's called baseball
  21. Pedoria with knee soreness during his rehab @ AA ... shocking news Dustin Pedroia was scratched from the lineup on his minor league rehab assignment at Double-A Portland on Saturday due to minor knee soreness. This rehab assignment at Double-A was expected to be the last step for Pedroia before returning to the Red Sox, but perhaps he isn't quite ready for a return just yet. With the success that Michael Chavis has had, it'll be interesting to see what the Red Sox actually do once the veteran second baseman is ready to return. SOURCE: Christopher Smith on Twitter May 11, 2019, 7:58 PM ET
  22. Ryan McMahon is absent from the Rockies' starting lineup on Friday. It looks to be a routine day of rest for the hard-hitting second baseman. Garrett Hampson is starting in his place at second base and batting seventh against Eric Lauer and the Padres in Colorado on Friday. Possibly the biggest blunder of the 2019 season
  23. So which Eduardo shows up tonight? "When he was good, he was very, very good but when he was bad, he was horrid," Home stats are solid but his Road stats are hideous Home 3.63 ERA 0.98 WHIP with 22 Ks in 17 IP Away 6.98 ERA 1.97 WHIP with 19 Ks in 19 IP
