  1. Vent & Rant Thread 2018

Sorry to play semantics, but there's nothing apparent about the O's hitters sucking. It's an undeniable fact!
  2. Carlos Gomez 2018 Outlook

Does it instill confidence if it was hit off a position player? Even if it was Astudillo in a 5 run 9th? Lol
  3. Eduardo Rodriguez 2018 Outlook

I'd say at least 8 days (nyuk nyuk), but the Sox will probably want to be conservative with him so don't be surprised if he lands on the 10d DL. Even though it was his ankle and not his knee, it would be naive to think that a weakened ankle wouldn't put more stress on the knee.
  4. Danny Duffy 2018 Outlook

Agree to disagree. Has he been better than he was over the first month or two? Sure, would've been hard to do worse though. You only have to go back 2 starts before today to find 6ER, and then 3 starts prior to that with another 6ER. Next time out against DET, zero confidence even against that lineup.
  5. Willians Astudillo 2018 Outlook

We know he doesn't K or BB at the plate, doesn't K or BB from the mound much either!
  6. 7/14 - GAME DAY THREAD

Better than his last time out. On regular rest I think he'll do well. Let's say 6.2IP 3ER 6K 2BB 5H (I never make stat predictions like this but let's see how it goes)

Having so much fun watching the Sox but it's easy to worry about how they bridge to Kimbrel.
  8. Shane Bieber 2018 Outlook

Sent down today. I assume just to make room for an extra bat. Or do they want him to face batters in AAA over the break? Wonder what his innings limit might be on the year. Will he be up again after the break? Dont know who else they would be pitching in the 5 spot.
  9. Carlos Gomez 2018 Outlook

Even so, it's really hard to own this guy. He swings out of his shoes. I can't begin to count how many times I've heard "this guy doesnt get cheated". He hasn't gone deep since June 1 and is just 2/4 in SB attempts since then as well. He's barely relevant in AL only with 5OF.
  10. Miguel Andujar 2018 Outlook

https://nypost.com/2018/07/13/yankees-privately-are-not-high-on-miguel-andujar-rival-execs/amp/ The title implies that rival execs think they Yankees aren't satisfied with Andujar. The entire article is basically Cashman denying that and talking him up. Compares him to Cano coming up in terms of growing into the player they feel he'll become. The question is, is Cashman further posturing here to make Andujar seem more valuable than they believe him to be in order to get a better deal somewhere?

Why the hell would Francona leave Bieber in the top of the 8th to face the first lefty, only to take him out and bring in OP to face the next lefty after the lead off man hits a double?

    Thanks for the jinx!

Never would've thought my best pitcher going tonight would be Gibson with all these other studs going. He had the slider going great all night.
  14. Blake Swihart 2018 Outlook

CV going down was about the worst thing that could've happened to Blake. Sox can't deal him now, and they won't trade for another catcher with him on the roster. I mean, I could see them letting him go if they got a guy like Francisco Cervelli. But then what do they do in September? Carry 3 catchers? Nope. Swihart is going to get a start or two per week until CV comes back and then fade back into the background I imagine.
  15. Elvis Andrus 2018 Outlook

It is too bad he got injured so early, he came out of the gate white hot those first 14 or so games. Try and remember he missed 2 months with a fracture in his dominant arm/elbow, to come back to a team with no chance to do anything this summer but melt in that ridiculous outdoor ballpark. It's going to be an injury claimed year for him, those that drafted him just ran into some bad luck. It is a bit surprising to me that he is not running AT ALL. He's been on base 20 - 30 times since coming off the DL, I would've expected to see at least 3 attempts in that time, going by his career rate.
