  7. John Wall 2017-2018 Season Outlook

On Wednesday, as the Wizards play in Boston on the second night of a back-to-back set, Wall will reach the six-week marker of his rehab timeline. The team will not practice after consecutive games, but Brooks said Wall could still get in another workout with coaches and team staffers. Wall would have to wait until Friday to potentially practice in a five-on-five setting. “We’ll have a practice at the end of the week,” Brooks said, “and if everything continues to go in the right direction, he’ll be there.” The number of games that Wall will play, however, is not as certain. Beginning Tuesday when the Wizards host the Minnesota Timberwolves, only 15 games remain in the regular season. Because it’s already expected that Wall will not return this week, he will have a dozen games left to prepare for a possible postseason run. To Brooks, the number of games does not matter — the team is more concerned about getting Wall comfortable again. https://www.washingtonpost.com/news/wizards-insider/wp/2018/03/12/john-wall-takes-another-step-toward-return-practicing-offense-with-wizards-starters/?utm_term=.f0e292b98124

  10. John Wall 2017-2018 Season Outlook

Wizards guard John Wall joined the team in Miami and participated in a rigorous on-court workout before the game. During his physical trial that lasted longer than 30 minutes, Wall showed a range of activity. In one drill, Wall attempted floaters in the paint while elevating off one foot. Later, he sprinted from sideline to sideline and lofted jump shots. Wall ended the workout by attempting corner threes until his teammates ran on the court for pregame warmups 15 minutes before the playing of the national anthem. Although Wednesday will mark the sixth week since Wall had left knee surgery, Brooks said he will not return by that date. The team set the original timeline of recovery for six to eight weeks. https://www.washingtonpost.com/sports/wizards/wizards-offer-little-resistance-get-torched-by-heat/2018/03/10/45e83778-249b-11e8-86f6-54bfff693d2b_story.html?utm_term=.7cdf36463246

  12. Nets coach Kenny Atkinson had taken for granted he eventually would reinsert Rondae Hollis-Jefferson into the starting lineup. Now, however, he is hedging his bets and could use Hollis-Jefferson off the bench to spark the second unit. “My first thought was to get Rondae into the starting lineup, but we’ll see how that evolves. We’ve got to get a better sample size to get a grip where we’re going to go permanently.” https://nypost.com/2018/03/07/one-net-may-not-return-to-starting-lineup/?utm_source=twitter_sitebuttons&utm_medium=site buttons&utm_campaign=site buttons
  13. John Wall 2017-2018 Season Outlook

The fourth week has passed in John Wall’s rehabilitation and the Washington Wizards’ all-star guard is set to return to the hardwood for low-intensity shooting. “On the court soon,” Wizards Coach Scott Brooks said before Friday night’s game regarding Wall’s progress. “Probably today or tomorrow [Saturday]. It’s very light shooting.” Since the procedure, Wall has run on an anti-gravity treadmill and pedaled on an elliptical bike, according to Brooks. However, the imminent shooting workouts will mark the first time that Wall will get on the court. “He’s progressing,” Brooks said, then referenced Wall’s recovery schedule. “I don’t know when. The timeline said six to eight [weeks], you never know. That’s smart people guessing, an educated guess. Hopefully it’s some time in between that.” https://www.washingtonpost.com/news/wizards-insider/wp/2018/03/03/wizards-coach-scott-brooks-says-john-wall-will-start-on-court-workouts-soon/?utm_term=.2867ae59f937
