  1. 16 team standard: My team Drew Brees mike evans amari Cooper melvin Gordon J Adams/ P Barber/D Martin/Ballage (not sure) ebron legatron vikings d Opponent mahomes theilen tate gurley gus edwards v mcdonald lutz denver d
  2. I was running Adams out there over Barber and Martin recently but he always seems to get nicked up ( last week it was a back injury) and I can't trust Duce Staley giving Smallwood and Sproles too much run. Not sure if I want the highest ceiling or the highest floor but its going to be a last minute decision I'm sure.
  3. I'm in an ultra competitive 16 team league and am considering starting him this week. I have Melvin Gordon (who I'm definitely playing) and then 4 guys all about the same (Peyton Barber, Doug Martin, Josh Adams, Ballage) All these guys are ranked around the same so its going to be a gut decision on Sunday.
  4. I guess its certainly a possibility. But watching Jackson play and seeing Newsome get a few carries a few weeks ago there is a noticeable difference in ability there. And last week with Gordon out it was Ekeler and Jackson...Newsome didn't touch the ball once. Newsome only played late in the Arizona blowout. You're not worried about the guy Pope off the practice squad, are you? I can't imagine he see the field unless Jackson goes down. Bottom line, I can understand the concern. But logically it seems Jackson will lead this backfield tonight by a large margin. I'm guessing 70% of the touches.
  5. Fair enough but then what exactly is the argument here? Gordon produced at a great level in spite of the low number of plays. The offense was also good enough to support flex production from Ekeler in most of those games. Now with both of them out, you're telling me the number of plays they're going to run is going to hamper Jackson? Because I think that's the argument here, the worry about Jackson getting enough touches. And I just don't see that as being an issue tonight.
  6. I'm seeing a ton of posts regarding the Chargers strategy of not getting into a "shootout" with KC. This makes no sense to me on so many levels. First of all....this is 2019. Teams score lots of points, offenses are better and the rules give offenses an even bigger advantage. The Chargers can score with anyone. This idea that they need to play ball control and bleed the clock is absurd to me. Lastly, SD isn't the only team missing key offensive players. Not only is KC without Hunt, they won't have Ware and Hill has been hampered with a foot injury. Yes mahomes is awesome and they have Kelce and other weapons but come on now. Full disclosure I own both Gordon and Jackson and I think Jackson gets plenty of work whether they are ahead or behind. This constant overthinking and hand wringing over "ball control" and the fearsome KC offense is just stupid.
  7. Thinking about starting L. Fitzgerald over him but I doubt I'll actually do it. Can't let Evans blow up on my bench. The argument being Fitz may have a higher floor this week. But a lower ceiling obviously.
  8. If you really listen to him and read between the lines there is no way he plays Thursday. Focusing on being cautious and how much better he feels than 2 weeks ago...obviously he's better now than when he got injured. Week 16 at the earliest.
  9. I don't buy this argument at all. Gordon is 215 pounds. Jackson is 200. Jackson was a bell cow at Northwestern I'm sure he can handle 65% of the running back carries in the NFL, which is all he'll get with Ekeler in the mix. But watching his performance so far, that'll be enough to produce results.
  10. There it is.... I think we're looking at week 16 at the earliest. Melvin Gordon - RB - Chargers Melvin Gordon (knee) remained sidelined at Friday's practice. Gordon hasn't practiced all week, paving the way for Austin Ekeler and Justin Jackson to work as the team's primary backs. Ekeler has the higher floor given his passing game usage, but the Bengals have been pummeled at a historic rate between the tackles this season. Jackson, albeit a strong RB3/FLEX, is best utilized in standard leagues this week. Source: Eric Williams on Twitter
  11. Report post Posted this in the Gordon thread but its just as relevant here...…. I think today's practice report will be critical regarding Gordon's availability for Thursday night. Hear me out. I've been reading since he got injured that the KC game...that's when he was coming back. Its amazing how so many "experts" are convinced this is the case. A few things to keep in mind. First of all, this was a grade 2 sprain and normal recovery is much longer than 17 days. You have to think the fact that the game is on a Thursday only hurts his chances. Lots of times when guys have an injury like Gordon's they get in 1 or 2 limited practices at the end of the week and ramp it up the following week to play on Sunday. I understand Gordon is doing work on the side. That's great. But you're telling me he's going to go from not practicing at all to playing in 6 days? I don't think there's any chance that happens if he's still on the side today. I've seen many experts argue if he comes back for the big KC game then he has 10 days to rest up for week 16. I look at it the other way. If they hold him out on Thursday he gets an EXTRA 10 days to heal and comes back ready to rock. Of course a lot of this probably depends on how they do this weekend, if KC wins, and how well Justin Jackson performs. But as an owner of both Gordon and Jackson I'm actually hoping he doesn't play. Its amazing for me to say that about my first round pick and best player. But I'd rather have a full Jackson than a limited Gordon, or one on a snap count being eased in. Curious to hear everyone's thoughts on this.
  12. Did you watch the game on Sunday against the Steelers? Gordon is great, I've always been a huge fan of his. But Jackson was electric in that game. If he gets the majority of the carries against the Bengals he's going to have a huge game. And I'll argue with that offensive line, he can come close to duplicating Gordon's production for as long as they need him.

  14. Thats some “committee”. He had 20 carries. The other RBs combined for 9. Some of you guys just love to complain. I picked this guy up for free 4-5 weeks ago and I’ll gladly use him as my RB2 in the playoffs next week.
  15. Why would this thread get locked? This thing is pure gold right now. Full disclosure I don't own Hunt or Ware.
