Like I said, hear me out before sneering at a season points league. I've played fantasy spots since I was 12. I'm 26 now I've played H2H, Roto, Points, Dynasty, and mashups of each in NFL, MLB, and NBA. In that time I've tested tons of different scoring methods and I've honed it into something that resembles real world player value(minus defense). It's more fair than H2H because it takes away much of the luck factor that comes with that format. You can't play defense in fantasy sports, so you can't stop or slow your opponent from scoring. So if you have 1 down week in the playoffs you could be out and there's nothing you can do about it. I don't like that. As for Roto/categories, it's honestly not a huge difference. The negative scoring categories take the place of things like era and batting average. Match ups still matter, and if you just stick guys in there, you will lose.
