  1. New York Yankees 2019 Outlook

Yes, you don't want to be stuck overspending on free agents that you aren't that crazy about. Have to let teams know you're seriously interested so they don't go trade with someone else. They aren't just going to wait around for you. Yankees also want to add 2 SP, so 1 via trade and then look to sign Corbin is the ideal.

Lookup Simonetti Source on Youtube and Twitter. He has been pretty reliable when it comes to Yankees news. Jack Curry has even gave him props publically on twitter. He's who I got this from and he's been right many times in the past. He doesn't reveal his sources, but he's said in the past it comes from "family." And its important to note that your Jon Heymans, Joel Shermans, etc. are not sources but just reporters who never really reveal where they're getting information. Jon Heyman especially I feel has fallen off in getting good info from sources. These guys just built a reputation from being right often and having jobs with YES, NY Post, MLBN, etc. to add to their credibility.

I said they are slightly closer but there's "still a lot to do" for any deal to happen. Not exactly close but they have been progressing. From what I hear, they've agreed on the first player that the Yankees would send to the Tribe. They're working out what other players would be included.
  4. New York Yankees 2019 Outlook

Yankees and Indians are slightly closer to making a trade that would send Carrasco to the Yankees. Still a lot to do.
  5. New York Yankees 2019 Outlook

Yea Profar could play SS or 2B while Didi's out, depending on where they prefer Torres. Then when Didi returns, Profar could become the starting LF or just move all over as a super utility guy.
  6. New York Yankees 2019 Outlook

CC averaged over 5 IP per start (29 starts) and had a 3.65 ERA. That's pretty solid for a 5th starter in the AL East. In comparison, JA Happ had a 3.65 ERA in 31 starts, averaging under 6 IP per start. Everyone wanted him back. And he'll be looking at a multi-year deal for more money.
  7. New York Yankees 2019 Outlook

Yankees are interested in Jurickson Profar. Looking to do Gray for Profar but Rangers want aother prospect in the deal.
  8. There's no better offseason in any other sport. So much speculation.
  9. Segura isn't happening. Going into his age 29 season with 4-years left + 5th year team option or $1M buyout. He also has a reputation as somewhat of a clubhouse cancer.
  10. New York Yankees 2019 Outlook

Exactly. He's going into his age 33 season. 2 years left that are guaranteed, + an option or buyout in the 3rd year. They want to get the best return while they can. They're also looking to give a guy like Ryan Merritt the opportunity to start. And Bieber is obviously in their plans. They have some other young guys with a lot of promise not too far away.
  11. CC returns with the Yankees for 2019. 1yr/8M
  12. New York Yankees 2019 Outlook

Yankees are meeting with the Indians to discuss Kluber. Seeing what kind of deal it will take. Sounds like Kluber is more likely to be moved that Carrasco. Mariners also being sellers...Paxton?
  13. New York Yankees 2019 Outlook

Voit is not going to hit .333/.405/.689 in 2019 but Yankees will give him the opportnity. Especially since having him at 1B will allow them to spend more in other areas of the team. If he fails miserably, then maybe Yankees get Edwin Encarnacion for a cheap rental.
  14. New York Yankees 2019 Outlook

It sounds like CC will be back. They'll still be going for Corbin though.
  15. New York Yankees 2019 Outlook

Happy bday Masahiro Tanaka! 30 years old today.
  16. I'm sure there was more to the Donaldson altercation, as he's an enormous douche himself. He also went over to Machado in a way to escalate it, which wasn't necessary. The bat throwing didn't happen in the same game. The tag incident was early in Game 1 of the 3 game set. Then, in game 3 the A's were up 10-0 in the 8th inning when Machado came up with 2 outs. His last AB of the game so they throw a fastball at his knees, with clear intent, but miss. They then try again and that's when he threw the bat. There wasn't anything wrong with his slides vs MIL. His slide vs Pedroia could've easily been unintentional. Pedroia missed not even a week due to being spiked and came back playing great. He got hurt again later in the season unrelated to being spiked by Machado.
  17. How many guys do you think OPS over .900? Not many. Especially not many under the age of 26.
  18. New York Yankees 2019 Outlook

Yea Harper is likely out. It had been reported the Yankees were not going to pursue him even before Gardner signed. C Frazier needs to get healthy and then he can get his shot. Gardner would then become the 4th OF. Hicks has been injury-prone so need a guy who can also handle CF, not much in free agency to fill that need. Gardner was the best fit. Would like Gardner to finish hi career with the Yankees too, and have a better year than 2018. Then there's the forgotten man Ellsbury, who knows if he'll show his face in 2019.
  19. New York Yankees 2019 Outlook

Torres 2B Judge RF Machado SS Stanton DH Andujar 3B Hicks CF Sanchez C Voit 1B Gardner LF
  20. Well Pearce did come to his defense. Said he was a great guy and pretty much his favorite guy in baseball. He said Machado's post-season antics have been out of character for him
  21. Fair enough. The thing is I've been watching Machado for years as a Yankee fan. Over all these years, I never saw anything to indicate he was a dirty player or this monster he's being made out to be. The Aguilar one was real bad, but then it just magnified anything else he did. Making everything else look so dirty when it really wasn't. He really didn't have this terrible reputation until the incident with Aguilar in the NLCS. For whatever reasons he's done questionable things that are out of character in this post-season.
  22. I think some of the stuff about Machado has been greatly exaggerated. I have no problem with really any of the hard slides into 2nd base that are shown here. I only think one of them may be considered offensive or "dirty." I have seen much much worse. Look at Utley's takeout slide in the '15 NLDS vs the Mets. An extremely dirty slide that ended Ruben Tejada's season. What did people say about that? "Utley plays hard" Throwing the bat I have no problem with either. The A's hit him before that happened and were attempting to hit him again, which was due to Donaldson being a major punk. Here's another incident caused by the lowlife Donaldson. So yea I don't blame Machado at all for that.
  23. Toronto Blue Jays 2019 Outlook

Tulo? He hasn't retired yet? But yea their offense can be good. Their pitching will likely be terrible.
  24. I can't understand how any Yankees fan could be so against signing Harper or Machado. Two 26-year old superstars. I guess I can see hating Machado and not wanting him on your team but I've seen players do worse than he did. I'm supposed to care about him cleating a player like Steve Pearce? LOL Pearce is just as dirty, if not worse.
  25. Boston Red Sox 2018 Outlook

Did you see what low-class Cora had to say at the parade? "We scored 16 runs at Yankee Stadium..Suck on it." Wow and that's a big-league manager? Yea plenty of reason not to root for them. About as low-class as I've ever seen. Like Rex Ryan started coaching baseball.
