  1. Although we're crazy active during June-July and mostly dormant after the free agency, we're always excited to welcome new people, as some members are temporarily managing a 2nd team in order to avoid orphans. The only news is that we moved to the superior forum, where I'm happy to answer all further questions: http://nbafo.freeforums.net/
  2. Only ATL and BRK remain available, here are some free agents this summer: James Harden, Paul George, Stephen Curry, Kawhi Leonard, Karl-Anthony Towns, Nikola Jokić, Nikola Vučević, Bradley Beal, Kemba Walker, Jimmy Butler, Klay Thompson, Draymond Green, Devin Booker, Brook Lopez, Myles Turner, Malcolm Brogdon, D'Angelo Russell.
  3. It's free. All the rules and rosters are available at the link provided above, so I'm afraid I probably won't be coming back here until the next recruiting cycle in 12 months.
  4. Hello, the idea behind NBA Front Office is to mimic the actual NBA as much as possible. All rules of the CBA apply unless specified otherwise. (So you'll learn a lot.) Teams using 8 players in their rotation score in a H2H points-based weekly format, with a shortened Regular Season and early Playoffs to eliminate real-life tanking/resting effects. Apart from standard Fantrax settings there is some help for defenders: rewarding +/- and minutes, penalizing missed shots. Finally, free agents are approached by exchanging private messages with their agents until an agreement is reached - once again mimicking real life. We've had loads of fun since 2012, but need some fresh blood - preferably before the free agency begins. CBA-savvy GM's can sign up here: http://www.profsl.com/smf/index.php?topic=52531.0 Enjoy the Finals, Daniel
  5. Available before the all-decisive free agency: Hornets, Pistons, Bucks, Kings, Jazz.
  6. The season for simpler games might have come and gone, but we're still here!
  7. Still alive and kicking, and accepting new members, in case anybody wondered
  8. Now that the simplistic leagues out there have all drafted, how about joining something more intellectual? You'd be just in time for rookie scale TO's, plus signing some leftover free agents and/or deciding on waivers to get down to a roster of 15.
  9. Friendly reminder: we're always looking for nerds willing to polish their CBA knowledge and join a fun community! Pelicans, Mavs, Hornets, and two-time champs Clippers are for grabs. (Sign up and contact me directly on ProFSL if interested.)
  10. Brooklyn and Portland are for grabs as the wildest free agency ever looms, headlined by Durant, Harden, and Curry!
  11. Finals shminals, the free agency is approaching The nerdiest league out there is recruiting again! Ready to step up as a CBA-whizkid GM? Or maybe get filthy rich as an agent instead? If you don't apply, I'm sending this guy your way
  12. Last chance to get on board before the tip-off! Houston Rockets and Dallas Mavericks both need new GM's.
  13. The new season is upon us, and ProFSL's most active and most geeky enterprise offers plenty of career possibilities as GM's, Assistant GM's, and Agents. Please apply here: http://www.profsl.com/smf/index.php?topic=52531.0
  14. Only the Magic still available, and watch out for the craziness when the Moratorium ends tomorrow!
  15. Blazers (with Anthony Davis!), Magic (with Jabari!), and Pistons (with Jameer Nelson!) remain available. Come July 1, our two agencies expect to be flooded with contract offers from desperate GM's, so please try to sign up on ProFSL ASAP.
  16. Draft and Free Agency are getting awfully close, it's a hot period in our league with all those Team Options, Qualifying Offers and whatnot. Got what it takes?
  17. With the trade deadline fast approaching, Nuggets, Pistons, Rockets, and Magic all looking for a GM to make their present and/or future brighter!
  18. As the new season nears, Celtics, Suns, Pistons, and Nuggets are for grabs!
  19. Boston gig gone, but the Clips and the Suns still could be yours. Quick reminder of what this league is all about: The idea behind NBA Front Office is to mimic the job of a real-life GM as much as possible. All rules of the CBA apply unless specified otherwise. That makes it the most complex ProFSL league - you'll need to understand terms like July Moratorium, Qualifying Offer, or Repeater Tax. (Which doesn't mean you must be a CBA expert from day 1. Au contraire: I created this league over 2 years ago, and I still learn something new every day.) At the same time, that makes it the simplest ProFSL league - you don't need to memorize any imaginary salary caps or extension rules, because we replicate exactly what is covered by the media every day. You don't need to optimize your team composition for any specific scoring format, because everything we do has the single goal of making the league 100% realistic and parallel to the real-life NBA. Need proof? Look how short the rules are! By now we've grown to become a unique community: most GM's write really cool blogs, we regularly share some laughs as a FB group, meet online once a year for a , celebrate every historical moment with rather poor Photoshop skills and Hall of Fame inclusion, and if you're lucky you might even get a real ring out of it all! Plus if you aren't quite sure when to renounce your TPE or how to comply with the Stepien rule, you can choose to start as an Assistant GM for a while!Join the geekapalooza here: http://www.profsl.com/smf/index.php?topic=52531.0
  20. The Boston Celtics are now available. You might have heard of them!
  21. Live Ring Ceremony & Draft Lottery video conference scheduled for this coming Saturday
  22. Not one, but four job openings!!! http://www.profsl.com/smf/index.php?topic=144609.0
  23. It's been a while, so let me give you an update: The league is going strong, all new additions panning out nicely: the hard cap and repeater taxes are already influencing everyone's strategies etc. Also, you can really smell the long-term vibe about this project: pretty much all 30 GM's have been very active over the last few months! That being said, at present at least , , and are looking for an Assistant GM with a solid chance of becoming the main man after this season is over. (Of course we'll still hold the usual competition once the GM job becomes available, but "I'm the current AGM of the team" is an argument hard to trump!) In other news, this spring we're introducing another unique aspect. The players' free will - thus far simulated by a special formula - is going to be replaced with the human factor! Enter our army of greedy Agents! They are a completely separate bunch and compete between themselves to top the leaderboard, while seamlessly representing the players' best interest when negotiating with the teams.
