I'll grab another reliever in Eddy Rodriguez for Bologna.

Next, I'll take care of my last utility spot in this dude:

http://mlb.mlb.com/media/video.jsp?mid=200903073967725

(remember that catch?)

He's also got the most amount of 2008 homers thats left on the board. Almost grabbed him earlier, but I wasnt sure if he was coming back. He's on Rimini's website.

Mario Chiarini, OF, Telemarket Rimini

That was a great catch, the best one we saw for the whole tournament.

Didnt even realize you were done. Ive got a couple more picks (since I lost Cillo and Austin) before we "open the waiver wire." I'll get them in in the AM.

My catcher, who I was eyeing as my 2nd catcher all along:

Mattia Reginato, Reggio Emilia. He was one of 3 players picked out of A2 Latina ball since they couldnt afford an active team anymore. He's 18, but Im gonna roll the dice. He already homered once and has been the DH in all of Emilia's games:

Catcher Mattia Reginato is the third player leaving LATINA BASEBALL towards the Italian Baseball League. Like Ularetti and Sambucci he too won the Junior European Championship in 2007. The 18-year-old is joining REGGIO EMILIA. He batted .300 (.361/.471) with two homeruns, three triples, twelve doubles, ten stolen bases (in twelve attempts), 28 runs scored and 27 RBIs in 35 games. He also threw out 25 percent of potential base stealers (9-36).

1st of 2 pitchers to fill my roster:

Juan Figueroa, SP, Montepaschi Grosetto

Im actually pretty excited about this find. I think I struck gold. Figueroa led the entire IBL with 100 strikeouts in 2007, but missed most of the year with an injury last year...which is why we didnt see him on the stat site. In 2007, he pitched 97.1 innings, struck out 100, and only walked 14! Last year, before getting injured (not sure what happened), he let up 1 run in 11.1 ip and struck out 10.

He's made 1 start thus far against one of the better hitting teams (Telemarket) and went 5.1ip, 5h, 1er, 1bb, 8ks.

Juan Figueroa and James Vermilyea are supposed to strengthen the pitching staff in 2009. The 33-year-old Dominican right-hander Figueroa is in Italy since 2005 and played for SAN MARINO the past three seasons, though he missed most of the 2008 campaign due to an injury.

There. It worked that time. Finally.

***ON A MORE IMPORTANT NOTE***

You need to draft one more pitcher. If you go back to the roster that you listed, you have Juan Camillo down as both an outfielder and a pitcher. He's only an outfielder. As far as I can tell, youre short a lanciatore or whatever they call it.

Are we gonna open up waivers after the games this weekend? Theres already a couple changes I want to make.

Maybe we should choose a handful of guys for our benches....just to own the rights of them. Let me know what you think. It looks like we both have a couple of guys that arent going to be getting regular playing time.

On another note....do you want to wait until the entire season is over and then do a H2H tally....or should we do it weekend by weekend? Using mister-baseball, it wouldnt be too tough to go weekend by weekend. That would also make weekly waivers/trades easier. Let me know what you think.
