The Rules are Simple!

- If you want to participate, just reply to this thread with the player you think should be ranked next on the draft list

- Rank the nba players based on a Single-Season, Traditional 9-catagory Fantasy League (either H2H or Roto)

- Each player needs 5 votes to be ranked (1-36), 4 votes to be ranked (37-84), and 3 votes to be ranked (84+)

- If you are the final deciding voter for a particular player, it's your duty to start the next thread, name it "#2" or "#18" or whichever # the NEXT pick is. in the body of the thread, copy/paste these directions along with an updated rankings list!

- You can vote ON BEHALF of others! Just cite a previous thread where any member voted for a player, and you can carry over thier vote to make the process faster! (please be specific when doing this). This also means you should be careful who you vote for, any of your votes can be quoted and used against you later!

Kyle Korver - 2 (cesquinho, nickyd82)

Jeff Green - 1 (willj)

Peja Stojakovic - 1 (KG4MVP)

Jameer Nelson - 1 (teamshameless)

Cuttino Mobley - 1 (rotoking07)

Luis Scola - 1 (gostrosgo)

Boris Diaw - 1 (C2)

I'll vote for Diaw and a comeback season....would have thought he would be a good roto player??

Peja Stojakovic!

I miss the Peja of 2004-2005. That guy has the sweetest stroke.

Anyone else think that he seriously lied about his age and that he is really 3-4 years older?

I have always thought this, from the moment that I watched footage of him tearing up the Greek leagues at the age of 18. He peaked and at one time was clearly the best player in Europe, even better than Dirk (tore him up in international play, for those of you that remember), but then he stopped developing and seemed to slide quickly at much too early of an age.

to be honest the ranking is getting ridiculous

Thanks for elaborating and not really adding anything constructive.

I wouldn't touch Peja in the 9th round. Up to now, we are only hearing very vague reports about him, like he's doing very well. Like we heard that every month last year and he ended up sitting it out for the whole year! Right now I think Peja is not in America, and even the Hornets officials have no idea how Peja is really doing. THey are just basing their assumptions from what Peja or his representative is relating to them. I don't think he'll be the same player again.

I somewhat agree. Anthony Parker? Come on, will you really pick this guy in the 8th round of a standard 12 team league? I know Parker was productive last year from a fantasy standpoint, but there are still lots of better options than Parker in the 8th round. Yeah I know my Jeff Green selection will get criticized by the Parker voters, let's just wait for the season to start and I bet my bottom dollar you'll pick Green ahead of Parker if you had to redo your drafts.

This is what we call an "inherent contradiction."

If he's productive, then there's nothing wrong with taking him in the 8th round. From this point forward, you're going to have a lot of guys being taken purely on upside or banking on "comeback" years.

For reference, here are Parker's numbers from last year:

47.7%

83.5%

1.6 3PTM

12.4 PPG

3.9 RPG

2.1 APG

1.0 SPG

0.2 BPG

1.0 TO

I'm sorry, but if he duplicates those numbers (another debate entirely, I suppose) he is definitely worth an 8th round selection. Very good percentages for a SG, nice three point contribution, low turnovers, and a steal per game. I'll take that production in the mid-late rounds.

Ah whatever. If someone will start the next thread I'll vote for Korver in this one.

Put me down for Delonte West in the next round.

Well, Parker is ranked #70 by yahoo and please don't take me for somebody that agrees with their rankings, because I don't, but obviously he is ranked there for a reason. Green is ranked at #256. We still need to take these types of things into account to weigh the values of players. Why would I take Green 70th in a standard league if I know I can get him in the 15th round. I'm not saying he won't be good, just that I wouldn't rank him that high.

What we need to realize is that with this type of system is that we are getting multiple opinions on guys with a lot of guys posting their reasoning. We all see players that we don't like and won't draft, but this is a process that is helping us assess where other fantasy players are valuing guys.

To just call it ridiculous is assuming that you know a great deal more than everyone else on here. If that is the case, then can you post your whole cheat sheet for me? I am not going to pretend to be that arrogant or knowledgable about the game, nor do I have a crystal ball.

There are certain guys that I will take this early that I am not even going to argue about since I know that guys won't see my point.

I, for one, am loving this process because:

1. It is seriously helping me prepare for the draft since I am thinking, "Who would I take next."

2. I get to see where other guys value players.

If you can't see the value of #2, then good luck in your draft. I think the value of #2 is where leagues are won. How long can I wait on my sleeper? Why take him in the 7th round if I can wait until the 15th?

BTW- sign me up for Korver.
