Shaun Livingston Season Outlook 2012-2013

16 posts in this topic

what do you think we can expect from him, starting in place of kyrie? Anyone have the splits handy?

edit: In the seven games he's started this year, he's averaging 8.7 ppg, 2.7 apg, 3.1 rpg, .4 spg/bpg, ZERO 3's. he's made zero 3's on the year. ugh.

I wouldn't expect much from him to be honest. The main beneficiary will be Waiters, he's the one that will have the ball in his hands most of the time.

Livingston's ceiling is capped.

Livingston started 3 games while Kyrie was out. He doesn't really seem like much of an option looking at those numbers.

People keep saying Livingston was horrible when he was filling in for Irving. But don't forget people, he was "filling" in, therefore he did run practices with the 1st unit, he did not know whether or not he would even be playing in the next game. Now that it is confirmed that he will be starting for the next 3 weeks. I'm sure he will be able to beat that lowly numbers he put up while filling in for Irving earlier in the season.

Worth a pick up. Not many starting PG left on the WW if you are in a deep league. So why not pick him up and see what happening on Tuesday.

I like Livingston as a player, but not as a fantasy player. Even if he plays 30 minutes a night, he won't give you much in scoring, assists, and 3pt. The only thing he does well as a guard is rebounds and some decent assists. I really think you can do far better unless you are in an extremely deep league. I think Kyrie's touches will be spread out across Waiters, Thompson, Speights, and Miles.

none of his 30+ min games have been that impressive..although a couple have been solid

I think there are a number other interesting options/prospects on the wire..depending on your league (Webster, Dorell, Koufos, Hamed, Kanter, CJ Miles..etc.)

no player on your ww will produce as much as this dude in 30 mins/night

That's not even true if you're in a 16 team league.

Looks like Byron Scott is going to incorporate Daniel Gibson back into the rotation, so Livingston probably won't be seeing huge minutes. I don't see Livingston having any value outside of 18+ team leagues...he doesnt get much steals, non existent 3 pters makes it very hard to be high on him.

He's also a pretty good shot blocker from the PG position because of his height and length.

Decent first half. Granted, it's the Wizards. Still, 28-32 mpg, 12ppg, 5apg, 4-5rpg with decent %s would be a nice outcome.

His starting stats are a bit misleading because he also started for the Wizards early in the season.

In his four starts for the Cavs, he has averaged: 13.0 pts, 2.8 rebs, 3.8 asts, 0.8 stls, 0.8 blks, 1.5 tos, 56% fg, 86% ft.

His career per 36: 10.6 pts, 4.1 rebs, 5.5 asts, 1.2 stls, 0.7 blks, 2.4 tos, 46% fg, 79% ft.

Not a bad BN guy to have, especially with Irving most likely out for the rest of the season.

13/4/6 with a block and a steal is not easy to find on waivers unless you're in a very shallow league. He also was in foul trouble throughout the game which might have limited his minutes, although its possible he would have played around 30 regardless of the situation. Anyhow just one game but if this is a forecast for the rest of the season ill be plenty happy.
