Jared Dudley 2012-2013 Season Outlook

After he was put back in the starting lineup he has played a lot of minutes. He is a borderline player so he could be available. I get the feeling that he is one of the few players Gentry likes him a lot. Maybe because he doesn't need coddling compared to the rest but I don't really know. This is all just a feeling I get from quotes and whatnot. His role seems like it could be secure from this point on. I think they figured out their starting lineup and their rotations.

Really good FG% for a SG. He can give you decent 3's with a couple assists. Has been scoring a ton lately and getting some steals. He is the starter and seeing 35+ minutes. I think he is a must own right now just for the upside. Look at his game logs tonight and the last 3 that he started!!

Why couldn't Gentry give him this run to start the season? He was clearly one of their most solid players last season, and is a very vocal team leader. But no, wait until after I drop him...

All kidding aside, I seriously don't understand how the Beasley experiment lasted as long as it did.

I believe the Beasley experiment is over. Dudley is now the full-time SF. No more timeshare with Shannon Brown. Get him now.

He has been playing more minutes than all season the last three games and it sounds like Gentry will not change that. He has been playing well with two 20 point games in a row with steals and threes and more. I think hes a good add

If he's going to get minutes then he should be owned because of his efficiency and potential in 3's and steals. However, he's done this many times before. He'll put up some monster numbers for a while but then disappear for stretches. He sometimes plays very passively and fades into the background. Pick him up but don't count on consistency.

Soon to drop Jrich for him! Just need a little bit more to convince me!

20 points, 4 threes, 4 reb, 5 asst, 3 st, 1 to on >50% shooting

It was against the bobcats though...

He has taken a quantum leap in production over the last 5 games. None of it is sustainable sadly but he seems like the only guy his coach actually respects. The thing that stands out for me is his high amount of PT and his peripheral numbers.

Last 5 games:

(38:54 MIN --- 6.8/12.4 FGM/FGA --- 0.548 FG% --- 2.4/3.0 FTM/FTA --- 0.800 FT% --- 2.4 3PTM --- 18.4 PPG --- 4.6 REB --- 4.0 AST --- 2.2 STL --- 0.0 BLK --- 1.2 TO)

His career FG% is 47.5%. The last 2 seasons he was at 48.5% and three years ago it was 47.7%. I would expect 48.5% but for this I would conservatively predict 48%. That would take away about 1 FG make per game off that line above and for prediction purposes I would assume that to be a 3 PTM.

His career FT% is 73%. Over his last 3 seasons it has decreased from 74.3% to 72.6% to 71.1%. Another conservative projection is 72.0%. That would take 0.24 FTMs off his total.

Apart from statistics if he keeps getting this type of PT he will be very useful. I think he will continue to do that because like I said Gentry seems to like him. I didn't watch the most recent game (CHA-PHX is not high on my list) but it is conceivable to think he would've gotten more PT if it wasnt' such a blowout.

I am struggling coping with dropping Kawhi for him even though it seems obvious I should.

regret dropping him at the beginning of the season...

I'm sure a lot of people dropped him as he was doing horribly.

One of my favorite players. So underrated, puts up fantastic stats if only he gets enough PT. You get rebouds, steals, assists, 3's, doesn't ruin your FG and FT, low TO. Just great, all in one.
