Will Bynum 2012-2013 Season Outlook

52 posts in this topic

Possible perfect storm brewing. Knight been sucking and Stuckey hurt. I've always thought about bynum as a lot like Nate Robinson. I doubt this production continues absent some gimmick Don Nelson, Mike Dantoni being installed. Obviously he has some value in deeper leagues.

I'd have picked him up already but the only thing stopping me aside from whom I should drop for him is that Detroit are only playing twice a week for the next couple of weeks.

I don't know about him, not because he can't produce, but because the starters for the Pistons haven't been playing many minutes at all. The moment Lawrence Frank decides to give the starters their minutes back is the moment Will Bynum will probably go back to waiver wire-level production.

He's had best game of the season, what do you expect? He's like a poor man's ben gordon, who will get hot once a while. at least Ben Gordon averages 12.5 ppg this season, but Will Bynum? no one will read this thread by the end of next week.

I'm in 20 team league and still think he isn't worth flying.

Hes shown greatr ability during stretches in a season before and with the struggles of Knight resurfacing i can see him becoming a factor in 12 team leagues and up. He should be seeing more minutes after that performance

I agree that he has had super stretches in the past but I don't see him stealing too much time from Knight or Stuckey long-term. He is a journeyman. Albeit, a hot one right now. This is just a short-term effort by Lawrence Frank to get his starters to play better. I am pretty sure they know they need to use playing time to develop their younger players with more upside than guys like Bynum offer.

I agree that Knight is playing poorly now but he is just a second year player. The NBA season is long. This might be the year he demonstrates whether he has the potential to be starting PG in the NBA or is more suited to a 6th man role.

..this guy was always a good backup PG for his size and strengh but dude has put in alot of work during summer time as he stated in an interview recently i still think pistons are just showcasing him and villuenva to maybe get a draft pick or a deal going, but thats just my put on it..

Stuckey was injured hence the boost in assists, Bynum is the SG from the bench nothing to see here..

He is and always was the PG from the bench, Stuckey has been playing SG for a while now...... given the minutes Bynum produces, but i see the Pistons going young pretty soon....

He is good and should get more minutes with the way he is playing but don't expect stats like this all the time. Bynum and the Pistons were crazy in the 4th quarter, seems like they never missed a shot. Just on fire as a team yesterday.

Oh and it why do some little guys like him try to draw Charges on LeBron....seriously get out of the way when he is driving the lane unless you are a big body.

Tough timing for he and Villanueva to start getting hot. They're both available everywhere but Detroit plays only seven times over the next three weeks.

I have always thought that Bynum deserved more credit than the pistons game him and that he deserved a shot at starting PG before we drafted Knight, but he will probably remain an extremely inconsistent fantasy play unless he found a magic elixir to raise he %s out of nowhere and demand more consistent minutes.

Who do we think will get more PT tomorrow him or Charlie V?

Not sure if this is assistant forum; however, I think Charlie V.

I took a flyer on him, the way I see it unless you are in a very shallow league and have absolulty no one to drop you have to add him and see what happens. I would not like to see him continue to explode on another persons team, knowing I had the chance to scoop him up. If he comes back to earth, there should always be someone to replace him with.

Also not sure how many of you actually know his full story. He seems extremly confident and persistent but at the same time quite humble
