Many Opening Day starters have been announced, but I'd like everyone to discuss how the rotations pan out after the O.D. starter...

and if a team is / isn't going to use a 5th starter the first time around.

Please post what you have seen (and perhaps provide a link if possible).

Giants will use same 5 as we did all of last year (damn we are lucky in that regard). Bochy never skips starts early. Big picture manager. Cain,Bummy,Vogelsong,Lincecum,Zito

(Under NO circumstances can Zito be allowed to go 200 IP or $20M vests. That $ will be going to Posey's extension, hopefully.)

Ogando owner here. Rangers will skip 5th starter more than any team in baseball early.

PORT ST. LUCIE, Fla. -- Upon further review, the Mets will see two southpaw starters in the opening series against the San Diego Padres.

After facing right-hander Edinson Volquez on Opening Day, the Pads announced lefties Clayton Richard and Eric Stults will start the next two games of the series.

Right-hander Jason Marquis originally had been expected to start the series finale.

The Mets were 21-38 against left-handed starting pitchers and 53-50 against right-handed starting pitchers last season.

Jason Hammel will start for the Orioles on Opening Day -- April 2 -- against the Rays.

The O's made that announcement on Wednesday evening in camp. Hammel, 30, posted an excellent 3.43 ERA, 1.24 WHIP and 113/42 K/BB ratio in 118 innings last season and makes for a fine mid-rotation fantasy starter.

Vance Worley will start for the Twins on Opening Day -- April 1 -- against the Tigers.

Worley was acquired this offseason from the Phillies in a trade that centered around outfielder Ben Revere. The 25-year-old right-hander registered a 4.20 ERA, 1.51 WHIP and 107/47 K/BB ratio in 133 innings last season for Philadelphia. He is barely fantasy relevant.

Good lord the Twins are pathetic.

The Mets announced the rotation through the first two series of the season.

Jon Niese will start Opening Day against the Padres, Matt Harvey will pitch game two on Wednesday, and Dillon Gee will close out the series next Thursday.

Jeremy Hefner will open the series against the Marlins at Citi Field next Friday, Niese will pitch the second game of the series, and Shaun Marcum is scheduled to pitch the final game.

Matthew Cerrone, MetsBlog.com:

The question is: Will Marcum be healthy enough to start that sixth game of the season, despite extra rest? I appreciate the confidence he has in his body, but I’m sure the rest of the staff is eager to get their assignments so they can start preparing physically and mentally for the regular season – at the same time, Marcum has missed time this spring due to neck and shoulder issues, so he’s a more of a risk than others. It might end up making sense to skip him again, just like they’re skipping Johan Santana.

Is anyone else getting annoyed by teams not solidifying their rotations yet?

Most of the games on the 6th and 7th say "To Be Announced"

http://mlb.mlb.com/news/probable_pitchers/index.jsp?c_id=mlb&date=2013/04/07

This happen during the season as well. The mlb beat writers must update them and rarely go a beyond a full rotation. Take for instance SEA on the 6th. That is a cold stone lock itll be Felix's 2nd turn. You can often fill in the blanks 6-7 days out, but off days can screw it up a tad.

Is ryu a two start pitcher this week or is bills gonna start on the 7th?

Ryu is 2 start. 95% Billingsley doesnt pitch until tax day.

Anyone have an idea when Medlen is going for the Braves? Also curious on the Rays rotation order as I have Moore and Cobb.

According to ESPN it has Moore pitching Friday against Cleveland and Cobb on Saturday against Cleveland. Both at home, games 4 and 5 that would be.

If Ryu is starting on on the 2nd, and the scoring period ends Sunday the 7th, then after Ryu there are only 4 more starts in the scoring period. I don't think Ryu is two-start unless they go a 4 man rotation. Wouldn't Capuano fill in for Billingsley?
