I thought I saw his name brought up earlier on but anyone know if he has a spot in the rotation this season? Saw Danks hurting.

Apparently flloyd might have tore something. Will he be In the rotation the rest of the year?

What is Hector's upside?

If this guy gets a legitimate shot as a starter he could be valuable given his RP eligibiltiy?

Did he start for Floyd or Peavy?

Floyd looks like he is out for a while, is Hector Santiago now going to be a start for the forseeable future?

I would hold him since Floyd looks done for season and you never know with Peavy. Not worried about Danks coming back later this month. RP elig will be huge. Watched MLB Network and one of the announcers was like why is this guy not in the rotation?

If his pattern as a reliever last year/MiLB track record holds, he could be a good source of Ks, but has been prone to HRs and walks. Definitely worth taking a flyer on, interesting stuff (screwball pitcher) and a solid fastball, so he's not just a junkballer

If Floyd hits the DL (Looking likely) he might stick. Danks is on his way back but no telling what might happen then. Santiago has decent stuff, pitched a few nice long relief outings end of last year.

For what it's worth, he has a career 3.50ERA in 27 starts in the minors with a 1.32WHIP, 9.5K/9, 0.6HR/9, and 4.1BB/9. So far in the majors, he has a 2.93ERA in 95.1IP with a 1.21WHIP, 9.3K/9, 1.1HR/9, 4.3BB/9. I think he could be pretty solid if he sticks in the rotation and continues to develop. You have Floyd done for the year, Danks working his way back, and Peavy may hit the DL. I feel like Santiago, Quintana, and Axelrod all have potential to be solid, but I'd wait and see for now. One of them will be moved to to the bullpen when Danks returns, even though I think all 3 of them are better.

Yes vs Matt Harvey, but I am throwing him out there for a QS. I think he's worth taking a shot on. He has the stuff to be a big strikeout pitcher. Huge upside here. From CBS:

The White Sox have yet to declare Hector Santiago a full-time member of their starting rotation, but it's likely with Gavin Floyd seemingly destined for season-ending surgery. And given what little we've seen from Santiago as a starter, Fantasy owners stand to benefit.

He showed he could be a bat-misser with access to his full arsenal in four starts last year, striking out 26 in 19 1/3 innings. Of course, he struggled with walks, but perhaps his two in 5 1/3 innings Thursday at Texas are a sign he's improved. As for his stuff, it's good enough that manager Robin Ventura was willing to experiment with him as a closer to begin 2012. That says something.

Again, you shouldn't rush to judgment on him with only five starts to his name, but given the demand for starting pitchers who are eligible at relief pitcher in Head-to-Head leagues, he's worth a flier if you have a roster spot to play with.

Santiago has six pitches he can throw, including three different fastballs, a slider, a changeup and a screwball. He has yet to start this season, but posted a 1.86 ERA in four starts a year ago. He is scheduled to start Friday against the Royals.

Picking him up if he twirls a gem, probably the same with most others who don't own him already.

He is really being squeezed by home plate ump tonight. Could be a long night.

I know it was against the Mets but this is the second game straight Santiago has looked awesome. He may be a good hold for awhile and not just a streaming option.

Looks good, unfortunately, the offense looks equally bad.

They need to stop running Dunn out there don't they?

With McDonald going on the DL just prior to the game I grabbed Santiago in hopes of a solid outing. Already starting Harvey, so I wasn't hopeful of a W, but this was great to see. Think I'll be keeping him around for a bit, even with the woeful Sox lineup, he should be able to keep them in the games he starts.
