Stephen Fife 2013 Outlook

13 posts in this topic

Rolling this guy out there today because my team sucks and I'm going for counting stats. Who's with me?!

Here's an article on his increased velocity: http://www.truebluel...fe-dodgers-2013

"Stephen doesn't have overpowering stuff but he was able to go out and not change his game once he got to the big leagues. He went up and gave the Dodgers some quality starts," Bundy said. "He's not going to light up the radar gun, but he knows how to pitch."

But apparently Fife has been lighting up the gun, as Mattingly told reporters after the game in Tucson Thursday, "Last time he hit 96, 95 mph. We're seeing velocity we didn't see before."

That's one way to keep yourself on radar.

He may be throwing harder, but he won't be successful without control. Struggling to find the strike zone in the first.

No control at all. Hopefully for the Dodgers sake, he won't be around long.

By counting stats were you trying to accumulate earned runs against and hits against? That is all you are going to get with Fife!

He topped out at 90 in the first inning with very ordinary secondary pitches. I'm not even going to put in a claim for him in my 12-team NL-only.

Nope, mostly strikeouts -- any that I can get. 1-2-3 2nd inning. 3 Ks 2 IP. Still in line for the QS lawlz. :D

i kind of wish the dodgers didn't pay lilly, capuano and harang(traded) a combined 25 million this year and just started fife. he has been very solid most games he pitches. i like him more than magill too. looked good today

I literally had never heard of him before streaming him. Quite pleased with his outing.

Looks like he's been solid for the past month or so...

Any Dodgers' fans have any insight? Guy has me intrigued to hold him for a few more starts...

I was hoping to see a few "Dodger" posts on hear too! I picked him up this weekend and he's in my starting lineup for the week. I haven't had a chance to see him pitch but all the #'s and research says he's worth a shot as a starter! Now, it seems that I'm in some kind of "funk" as to where a P starts going down hill extremely fast as soon as he signs with my team so y'all have been warned LOL!!!
