My 14 team PPR:

1-14 Julio Jones(Atl - WR)

2-15 Matthew Stafford(Det - QB)

3-42 Antonio Gates(SD - TE)

4-43 Doug Martin(TB - RB)

5-70 Torrey Smith(Bal - WR)

6-71 Reggie Wayne(Ind - WR)

7-98 Rashad Jennings(Oak - RB)

8-99 Kenny Britt(Ten - WR)

9-126 Jacquizz Rodgers(Atl - RB)

10-127 David Wilson(NYG - RB)

11-154 Kyle Rudolph(Min - TE)

12-155 Russell Wilson(Sea - QB)

13-182 Alfred Morris(Was - RB)

14-183 New York(NYJ - DEF)

15-210 Garrett Hartley(NO - K)

Stafford at 15? Barf.

Gates at 42? Super barf.

Wilson at 155 and Morris at 182 would have been great EXCEPT I released both of them.

I turned that ragtag bunch into the roster in my sig and made the final four at least.

10 team standard $100 yahoo """pro""" league.

Look at this catastrophe at RB:

1.8 Tom Brady

2.3 Julio Jones

3.8 A.J. Green (My internet went out right before this pick. It was autopicked . . . I was going to take Fred Jackson.)

4.3 Steven Jackson

5.8 Aaron Hernandez (forced to just go best player on the board for two rounds)

6.3 Dez Bryant

7.8 Peyton Hillis (Here's where I go into full desperation mode for an RB . . . 2? . . . didn't get one.)

8.3 Rashad Jennings

9.8 DeAngelo Williams

10.3 Jacquizz Rodgers

11.8 Kendall Wright

12.3 Andrew Luck

13.8 Alshon Jeffrey

14.3 Kyle Rudolph

15.8 Houston D

I won this league thanks to Bryce Brown, Andre Brown, and Mikel LeShoure . . . in other words . . . why are we arguing so much about who to draft when we all know damn well it's going to be in-season management that wins leagues?

If you get massive value in 3rd, 6th, 12th, and 14th rd picks, you will be hard to beat. Similarly, in auction, if your single digit bids end up finishing top 10, you will be a seriously good team.

Good drafting is all about finding breakouts before they happen...nothing else. Every single team will have a couple of big name players by default

LOL you drafted 4 RB's in a row that were all useless. Tis fantasy football.

Indeed, in season pickups and trades is where leagues are won. Gotta play that waiver wire like a king.

1. (9) Chris Johnson (Ten - RB) 2. (16) Adrian Peterson (Min - RB) 3. (33) Jordy Nelson (GB - WR) 4. (40) Eli Manning (NYG - QB) 5. (57) Jermichael Finley (GB - TE) 6. (64) BenJarvus Green-Ellis (Cin - RB) 7. (81) Cedric Benson (GB - RB) 8. (88) Brandon Lloyd (NE - WR) 9. (105) Ben Roethlisberger (Pit - QB) 10. (112) Ben Tate (Hou - RB) 11. (129) Baltimore (Bal - DEF) 12. (136) Kendall Wright (Ten - WR) 13. (153) Kyle Rudolph (Min - TE) 14. (160) Randy Moss (SF - WR) 15. (177) Alex Henery (Phi - K)

I drafted Chris Johnson in the 1st round. And Adrian Peterson in the 2nd.

Seems like those shoulda been completely flipped around.

Jermichael Finley in the 5th is where I screwed the pooch but Kyle Rudolph sure did help down the stretch.

Lloyd & Benson were busts....I really had high hopes for Benson & Green Ellis last year. BGE was atleast a consistent 7-8 points though.

Amazingly I finished 2nd in the league with this team. Lots of trading and my final roster looked like this:

Roethlisberger

BGE

Adrian Peterson

Denario Alexander

Josh Gordon

Brandon Marshall

Aaron Hernandez

Peterson & Marshall carried me.

12 team keeper league kept rice and stafford and made some trades to pick up a couple picks

1.12 Julio Jones

2.1 Ryan Mathews

2.5 Brandon Marshall

3.13 Demarious Thomas

4.2 Doug Martin

Got Alfred Morris at the end of the draft

Stafford, Rice, Morris, Thomas, Marshall, and Jones combined for 20 points week 15 after I averaged 20 points a game more then anyone else the entire season up until that point

Try drafting dmc, stafford, harvin, mathews, finley with your first 5 picks in a 12 teamer that starts 2rb, 3wr, and a flex

and making the playoffs ... and winning a matchup with the waiver wire allstars.

I'll share the team I actually won the championship with. I remember hating my draft. I wanted to keep Dwayne Bowe but he was still holding out so I threw him back, it worked out better that way.

Keepers

QB Matt Ryan

RB Michael Turner

RB Demarco Murray

WR Demaryius Thomas

5.6 RB Doug Martin

6.7 WR Antonio Brown

7.6 WR Pierre Garcon

8.7 QB Robert Griffin III

9.6 RB Rashad Jennings (Was worth it to see the MJD owner flip the hell out lol)

10.7 WR Mike Williams

11.6 TE Jared Cook (I was hoping to pair him with Rotoworld sleepers Kyle Rudolph or Greg Olsen, they both went like back to back after this pick)

12.7 DEF Chicago Bears (Went DEF earlier than usual, hoping to makeup for a perceived lack of a WR1, a crappy TE situation, and a shakey RB2 situation)

13.6 TE Owen Daniels

14.7 RB Bernard Scott

15.6 K Mason Crosby (see Bears)

16.7 WR Jerome Simpson (Was really high on him...oops)

17.6 WR Terrell Owens

Ended up picking up Heath Miller, him and Daniels made an excellent TE group. Michael Turner and Doug Martin were my only 2 starters most of the year until I got Knowshon late. Someone cut Denarius Moore week 2 and I started him a lot early on but it was basically WRBC behind Demaryius, I guessed right a lot and Mike Williams was a solid WR3.

Our scoring for DEF was a bit higher than normal and having Chicago magnified that, they won me games the first half of the year. Kicker I ended up snagging Lawrence Tynes. Someone cut him inseason after Jason Hanson's bye, crazy.

RGIII and Matt Ryan were both excellent even though I guessed wrong most weeks lol.

10 team, 8th pick.

I went Megatron, Graham, Marshall in the first 3 rounds. Couldn't have gone any smoother for me. I have no idea how Megatron and Marshall fell that low but I was very happy.

Team I won with - 12 team, 6th overall:

6th - Aaron Rodgers

19th - Matt Forte

30th - AJ Green

43rd - Dez Bryant

54th - Ahmad Bradshaw

67th - Stevie Johnson

78th - Beanie Wells lol

91st - Donald Brown

102nd - Ben Tate

115th - Mark Ingram

126th - Andrew Luck

139th - Jermaine Gresham so much for taking a tight end early

150th - Titus Young

I ended up having Spiller, Moreno, Bryce Brown, and DX by the end of the season.

My big money league is 3-keeper and has a live draft so I don't have results. But I usually play 2 leagues and last year I had to defend my title in my local Home Depot's staff league (I don't work at Home Depot.) Ended up finishing 2nd with probably the best draft of my life: (PPR)

1.7 Megatron

2.14 Julio Jones

3.27 Jamaal Charles

4.34 Adrian Peterson

5.47 Darren Sproles

6.54 Eric Decker

7.67 Torrey Smith

8.74 Jeremy Maclin

9.87 Stevan Ridley

10.94 RGIII

11.107 Peyton Hillis

12.114 Mikel LeShoure

13.127 Toby Gerhart

14.134 Kyle Rudoplh

15.147 Seattle DST

16.154 Matt Bryant

10 team league, 1st pick. I finished 3rd, mostly due to in season pick ups (DX, Bryce Brown, Knowshon) and a couple trades...was able to pull off a trade for Calvin when the team manager that had him panicked about his "slow start".

1.1 Arian Foster

2.20 Matthew Stafford

3.21 Jimmy Graham

4.40 DeMarco Murray

5.41 Jeremy Maclin

6.60 Stevie Johnson

7.61 Dwayne Bowe

8.80 Peyton Hillis

9.81 Willis McGahee

10.100 DeAngelo Williams

11.101 Andrew Luck

12.120 Seattle D/ST

13.121 Nate Washington

14.140 Stevan Ridley

15.141 Dan Bailey

Looking back on this I still wonder how I was able to get Ridley in the 14th round, but I guess most of my league just slept on this guy for whatever reason.

I was hopeful Vereen would end up having more value in PPR leagues before last season.

Yeah, I totally thought I could use Hillis as a cheap fallback option in my TD-heavy league.

Titus Young gets an award for most absurd flameout in recent memory.

Remember when people were saying why draft Jamaal Charles when you can have Hillis much later for good value?

Oh boy.

12 team, 1ppr

Record: 2-11-0

1. (1) Arian Foster (Hou - RB) 2. (24) Steven Jackson (Atl - RB) 3. (25) Fred Jackson (Buf - RB) 4. (48) Antonio Brown (Pit - WR) 5. (49) Jeremy Maclin (Phi - WR) 6. (72) Philip Rivers (SD - QB) 7. (73) Ben Tate (Hou - RB) 8. (96) Titus Young (StL - WR) 9. (97) Jared Cook (StL - TE) 10. (120) Jerome Simpson (Min - WR) 11. (121) Mark Ingram (NO - RB) 12. (144) Greg Olsen (Car - TE) 13. (145) Russell Wilson (Sea - QB) 14. (168) New England (NE - DEF) 15. (169) Robbie Gould (Chi - K)

  • never going "RB heavy" in a draft ever again
  • never drafting Rivers ever again no matter what
  • never taking two WR2 who should've both turned into WR1 this season in the same draft
  • never drafting DET WR with "character concerns" let alone ones that belong in a padded room

*(all of which I'll probably ignore starting late August)

Alright...fine, i'll share one of my crappy teams.

12 team PPR keeper, $300. 20 man roster

Ben Roeth $9, Russell Wilson $7, Locker $6

Foster $78, Sjax $37, Stewart $12, Spiller $8, Tate $8, Gerhart $7, Kevin Smith $10

A. Brown $39, Steve Smith $18, Stevie Johnson $17, LaFell $8, Kendall Wright $9, Stephen Hill $6

Fleener $5, Tamme $6

Finished 5-8 after a 3-0 start, LOL.

The funny thing is, i added Kaepernick, Dwayne Allen and Ryan Broyles in free agency and with Sjax and Spiller suddenly getting a huge boost in value, this team could be a contender if i find a quality WR or two...

How funny is it, that after every draft, you feel pretty good about your decisions and draft choices:

First 4 picks: Julio Jones, McFadden, Fred Jackson, Antonio Gates...before the season starts, I am feeling so good about these four, I only kept Julio Jones throughout the season needless to say as the others were garbage or damaged goods.

Next 4 picks felt okay about: Dez Bryant, Matt Ryan, Cedric Benson (a reach but I was high on him), Percy Harvin (everyone was avoiding him like the plague, I figured WR3, no problem). Needless to say, only kept Dez and Matt Ryan by end of season, but Percy gave me some solid numbers before his return to IR, and I still think Ced Ben was on par to give me RB 2 stats throughout before his season ending injury. Unfortunately, it caused me to hold onto him for way too long and let available free agents like Spiller go elsewhere on waiver wire, yes Spiller was on the waivers even after week 4 in my league, I was nuts not to get him.

Greg Olsen, Titus Young, Lions D, Matt Prater - I was so excited that I got "everybody's" chosen sleeper pick in Titus Young (total garbage, I gotta stop eating the crap Rotoworld spews about their sleeper picks), Lions D didn't make it very far with me, and Matt Prater was quickly dropped for Matt Bryant who performed quite well for me.

Back up QB was Jake Locker who I dropped after his first shoulder injury and scooped up Carson Palmer.

The reason why I made it to a top 3 finish in the playoffs and scored some dough, was because I dropped these guys for some timely players:

I picked up Aaron Hernandez week 4 when somebody drafted him really high but also had Jason Witten on bye week 4, so they had to drop one to play somebody in the Tight end position, and I quickly scooped Hernandez up, and played waiting games with him. Wasn't my best move, but considering my TE1 was Gates, it paid off late in the season.

I picked up Bryce Brown, 2 weeks before my regular season was ending. I was a long shot to make the playoffs, had to overcome 2 teams with better records, and hope that one of the more dominant teams in the league would not lose on purpose to keep me out of the playoffs...he had considered doing so just to keep me out of his way come playoff time, but instead decided to let the chips fall where they would and his win over a team ahead of me allowed me to leapfrog that team on tie breaker for total points scored throughout the season (Thanks to Bryce Brown's moster games at my season's end), and I made him pay the piper with a playoff week 2 upset, that put me into the money round and him on the outside looking in, once again.

Needless to say, we always think we have a great strategy going into drafts, but luck has such a major impact on the play of the game, that you have to be so quick to make a move on the waiver wires, especially in my league where 10 teams only keep 3 running backs each, which means there's alot of options available all the way up until the last game or two in the season.
