Keeper Dilemma

16 posts in this topic

200 auction budget. 8 category ROTO 12 team

must keep 4

$26 Curry

$11 J-Valancinus

$8 "The Real Deal" Bradley Beal

$8 "Scary" Larry Sanders

$8 Kawai "so serious" Leonard

You can keep anyone forever, just that it goes up $4 each year. Curry is the obvious keeper. He's a first rounder who probably would go for like 50-60 if not more in my league.

It's down to the other 4. I think Jval has a good shot to not only breakout but become elite wthin a couple years making the investment worth it.

I'm probably deciding between Beal and Leonard. Agree?

I have Beal, Jonas, and Leonard all in my dynasty and at the same price (or roughly the same price) I'd take Jonas and Leonard with ease. I really like Beal, but Leonard and Jonas are so valuable in roto with their percentages. Sanders beats out Beal as well. As much as it sucks, you pretty much have to throw Beal back.

Yeah Im feeling you. I'm just wear on Leonard to see how much he actually improves. If Ginobli and Parker are still there, his numbers arent too impressive and when you throw out TO as a category...he's less valuable

I'd lean towards flicking Jonas and keeping the others. I think thats a steal for the prices that you have there. But other than keeping Curry, you can't really go wrong with any combo of the remaining 4.

Curry, Sanders and Kawhi are a LOCK.... then I'd go with Jonas

I see Jonas as a project that will improve incrementally each year. I don't see him putting up dominant big man numbers for at least another 4 years.

Beal should be the odd man out. I LOVE Jonas's potential. The guy's a future top 15 pick imo. His game is just so fantasy friendly. A big who will shoot 80%+ from the line (could be even 85%+, he was around 90% in Europe) who blocks shots and will be a FG% anchor. Sign me up. I'm a Raps fan and he's basically our only hope going forward. He won't be babied next year like he was this year by Casey.

Also, expect his rebounding to increase as he puts on more weight. He had some huge rebound % numbers in Europe. Jonas has legit 18 and 10 and 2 on godly percentages potential.

In the last month of the year Jonas put up 15/7.5/2 on 61.5% from the field and 84.6% from the line. He's was only 20 this year, but those numbers give you a sense of how much of a beast this guy could be.

Curry, Jonas, Kawhi, and Sanders. I'd keep Jonas for sure over Beal. A Center who can shoot 50+% from the floor 80+% at the FT line and gives you 1+ block a game is a rarity.

Thanks for the help. It's going to come down to Beal vs Leonard most likely. I'm sure preseason/training camp will likely answer that for me

That's not even close... Leonard by a mille... Just look at the PO stats for Kawhi... big minutes = big lines for him, he's a must keep... if you like Beal you can chose between him and Valanciunas, but you MUST keep Leonard

My first reaction was actually to let go of JV. I could definitely rationalize keeping him over Beal, though.

I'm not Leonard's biggest fan but I would absolutely hang onto him over these two guys.

Val is a nice prospect, but I think he's the odd man out. Beal really turned it on toward the end of last year and has a unquestioned starting role. I expect big things from beal next year

I'd drop Jonas 100%. His price will be cheapest out all of those guys next year. Beal has just as much if not more potential than Jonas. The rest are so cheap that you could easily keep those 3 for the next 3-4 years at bargain prices.

Curry, Kawhi, Sanders are locks. Each have superstar potential. Beal and Val are both a step down. I would throw Beal back SGs are easier to find than centres.

I think I'm leaving out Beal. Hard not to see Kawai's upside after that playoffs. He's only 21. J-Val or Beal, and a lot will come down to preseason hype... but Jval also offers a lot more upside. Beal is a great value and I would save 2 bucks, but he looks like his upside his a poor man's Joe Johnson (prime joe johnson). Think he could average close to 20 ppg with 2 threes, not a lot else, which is good. Will be a tough call.

Thanks for all your help
