Josh Lindblom 2013 Outlook

13 posts in this topic

  • 25 year old has never started a game in majors
  • Starting Monday for Ogando, possible 2- start pitcher next week
  • As a starter in the PCL this year, 43.1 innings, 2.08 era, .88 WHIP, 33 Ks

Rangers general manager Jon Daniels recently pointed out that Lindblom has three plus pitches and is working on a fourth. A varied arsenal usually plays up better in a starting role than a relief role, so Lindblom strikes me as one of those pitchers who will fare better when stretched out. If I had a roster spot to play with, I might just take a flier on him.

Lost villanueva so I added him since he is a RP and has 2 starts, no idea what to expect.

What's the deal with him? He is a reliever turned starter now? I think he throws in the low to mid 90's

I snagged him and am starting him with confidence. I expect a win.

Ideally I'd take 2 wins this week and solid ratios.

If he can sustain solid numbers in the PCL he should be able to pitch QS.

Plus the Rangers are playing great right now. Lots of offensive support. They've been stretching him out to start.

He went 8 innings in AAA this year. And his last start he went 6.2 innings. I'm counting on at least him breaking 5 due to his ability to work deep into games in the PCL too.

Damn. So he was sent back down. There goes the double-start. I guess they could call him back for this weekend, but only if there's another injury, right?

Well, he was decent on Monday against Cleveland going 6 IP, 5 H, 3 ER, 1 BB, and 6 K's.

Anyone going to give him a chance against TOR on Saturday?
