Help with Keepers: Nelson, Harvin, or Cobb?

9 posts in this topic

I have a bit of a problem. I have inherited a great PPR keeper team (10 team league), but it is absolutely stacked for WRs. The keeper rules are keep 4, but you cannot keep more than 2 players at a single position. The roster is as follows:

QB: Aaron Rodgers (keeping)

RB: Ryan Mathews

RB: Reggie Bush (keeping)

RB/WR: Percy Harvin

WR: Jordy Nelson

WR: Dez Bryant (keeping)

WR: Randall Cobb

TE: Brent Celek

D/ST: Ravens

K: Garret Hartley

I need help with the last keeper. I'm stuck between keeping Harvin, Nelson, or Cobb. I like Harvin's situation more because he doesn't really have anyone to take touches away from him. Cobb and Nelson might take touches away from each other since Rodgers likes to spread the ball around. I do think Cobb is the most talented player out of the bunch though. Any advice would be greatly appreciated.

As always I will help if you post a link. Thanks!

you gotta go harvin, he is the best WR out of that bunch by miles, and he will get a lot of quick type catches in Seattle as long as making huge plays down the field, which will help in PPR, he will also get catches out of the backfield, and can also contribute with about 300 yards rushing.

You have to go with Percy Harvin. Seattle didn't give up a first round draft pick for the guy just to have him look at the grass on the field. He'll see plenty of passes coming his way.

Harvin. Upside is as high as any WR not named Megatron. Sure there is risks but ya don't win leagues without taking a few of them. Like Cobb a ton too but Harvin is elite.

I'm surprised nobody has asked...... what is the keeper value?

I really, really love Harvin and Cobb this year. All I play is ppr leagues so they get a slight boost for being high reception guys. I think Harvin is ranked lower than he should be because he's on a new team and some don't know what to expect. But I feel like his situation is pretty close to what it was with the Vikings. Great run first offense without a second elite WR to take away touches.

For Cobb, I just love him this year especially at his value. In auction drafts, I can snag him around 20-25 but I'd be willing to spend around 30 if I had to. In snake, depending on what my pick is, I may have to reach for him but I'll be okay with that. I'm not sure what his exact snap count was, but I would assume it was lower seeing that he missed a game and wasn't even the starter the entire season yet he still finished with a solid stat line. I'm really high on this kid for next year. He is one of a few players that I want and every single team next year.
