Reuben Randle 2013 Season Outlook

Nicks, #injuryprone ... Cruz - potential hold out ...

he's big, he's good, Eli's #3 with a chance to move up the charts at some point.

He is what Ramses was supposed to be. Not as big but 1000x better ball skills/route running ans he can actually beat press coverage [what killed Barden].

Randle reminds me a little of Nicks. Actually a bit bigger and doesnt have track speed but can break off big plays despite the 4.5 40.

And it's pretty obvious he'll never see double coverage as long as Nicks is on the field. I've never handcuffed a receiver before, but Randle would make a lot of sense for Nicks owners. I'll take him regardless - could be a decent WR3 for deep leagues.

Ramses Barden says, it ain't over yet:

The New York Daily News reports the Giants are bringing free agent WR Ramses Barden in for a physical on Thursday.

If all checks out well, Barden could sign a one-year deal to return. The 27-year-old former third-round pick said in February that it was "probably best to move on" from the Giants, but he hasn't generated any interest on the open market. He'll be back at the minimum salary and as the No. 5 receiver.

Bardem has no impact on randle but being the third option does. I love his talent but if nicks and cruz are playing then he's unstartable. He will most likely be buried behind them for a long time so I think overall his upside is capped unless nicks or cruz somehow leave.

lol, that is funny. Your binky is back!!!

I foresee one monster game from Barden this year. That no one will expect, where he's started in 0.1% of leagues.

Randle doesn't get drafted in any of the 12 team mocks I do, so he is very cheap. I like the idea of handcuffing Nicks with him.

more of a deep league guy to watch or if you grab nicks 4/5th round ... juuust someone to keep an eye on in the preseason.

he's one of my candidates for out of nowhere waiver stud wr 2013 - especially with the whole Cruz contract situation still up in the air.

currently running as the #1 in OTAs with Nicks/Cruz sitting out.

Why is Nicks sitting out?

He wants a new contract, he wants to get paid.

Both him and Cruz.

An excellent addition in a dynasty. Useless this year barring something happening to Cruz or Nicks.

What if they both sign long term deals which is probably what will end up happening?

Even if they both sign long term deals, Randle belongs on dynasty rosters as a WR3/4 prospect, with WR2 upside if there's an injury. Of course, he was a 2nd round pick in rookie drafts last year, so chances are he's not on waivers in that format. Don't think anybody would be down on him at this point either, so you'd probably need to overpay to get him on your roster.

Great guy to target for $1 at the end of your auction draft. He's getting invaluable off-season reps as the #1 WR with Nicks and Cruz out. All he will need is an in-season injury to either Nicks (no way that will ever happen...) or Cruz to be extremely fantasy relevant. He may even have decent fantasy value as the NYG 3rd WR.

Dynasty league value for this guy? I saw it mentioned somewhere else on these forums that Nicks is in a contract year and with the all the injuries, it might be unlikely that they re-sign Nicks opening up a starting role for Randle as early as next year.

At the moment he definitely has dynasty value. I'd be surprised if the giants gave nicks an extension. His injuries have been nothing but a headache. I'd hold onto randle for sure.

i'm going after Randle late in my draft... it's a matter of when not if that Nicks misses games...

It's safer than that. Randle would still put up solid numbers as the 3rd receiver on the Giants (See Steve Smith, Mario Manningham). He's a great talent and the Giants are high on him. I don't see how he doesn't finish within the top 36 WRs.

No ones concerned with Eli's regression last year?

Yeah, he fell ALL the way off the map last year mid season.

So Cruz will be back for the regular season--but will he be 100%?

Nicks, as we know, will never be 100%.

Meanwhile Manning the Ulglier--who has praised Randle this summer--will continue to develop chemistry and timing with Randle thru 1st team snaps for the remainder of the preseason.

I'm targeting RR in every league at this point.

I love him this year where he'll be drafted, I think. I'm just worried some clown will reach too early and screw it all up
